Finally made it to the new burger in town with a bunch of colleagues during lunchl last week.

Even though the comprehensive menu suggested way more adventurous options I went classic for my first time and ordered their version of a bacon cheeseburger. Skipping the fries for some health points and trading them in for a coleslaw with potato dressing.

The burger was good taste-wise but unfortunately quite dry, not how I remembered that juicy avocado burger from the opening weekend of the new tram lines a couple of months back. The slaw was also ok, with no distinct taste, rather rawish and very lightly dressed. Really liked the mango ginger ice tea that came with my lunch set though, taste as well as size.

The place shares the forest look of other outlets and seating inside is laid out very narrow and tight. One of my colleagues is quite tall and had a hard time sitting down. Even I (not extraordinarily tall) had to squeeze through to my seat.

Service was super nice and kinda fun actually.

So this was my first Hans im Glück experience and I wasn't too thrilled. But they're still kinda new and I surely will give them another try in a few weeks time since I hardly ever judge from one...

Awesome place to eat great burgers. The restaurant is pretty stuffed in the evenings but in a way it doesn't feel unconfortable to sit so close to other people. If i could i would give more than 5stars just for the food itself. Definitely one of the greatest burgers you can get around for an affordable price. Also interessting unique burgers with great taste to them. Their cocktails have an awesome taste to them as well, whether you buy the alcoholic ones or the non alcoholic cocktails. Dessert was amazing too & the staff was friendly and helpful at any time. I definitely recommend coming here if you visit freiburg. We had a wonderful experience at Hans im Glück! The atmosphere is modern yet cozy, and it immediately made us feel welcome. The food was excellent – fresh ingredients, great flavors, and beautifully presented. Their burgers are truly something special, and the sides were just as delicious.

A big compliment goes to our waiter Luca, who made the evening even better. He was attentive and friendly. His warm and professional service really stood out and made us feel well taken care of from start to finish.
