I have come home from my travels over a week ago still thinking about the food from the Afghan food stall called Kabul. It felt like a warm hug from a grandma. I have only tried Afghan food once before when I was a child, so as soon as I saw the rice on display, it was like I was being drawn to it. I tried to use google translate but no luck so I just looked at the pictures and ordered the beef with rice and salad. It was so good I could fly back just to eat it again. It cost €14 for a plate and it’s a food hall so you just sit anywhere to eat. They had this amazingggg red chili sauce on the top of their counter which just elevated the dish. I was with friends and they got the Brazilian dish and they couldn’t finish their food because they said it was quite bland 😂 but ended up sharing my plate with me (even though I really didn’t want to share because it was so good) And then another friend of mine got the mixed bowl and they said the okra was really good. The servers spoke English and it was super quick service, very simple and although I was thinking I’d try some German food on my quick visit to the town, I will now always bang on about the Afghan food 😂

This was such a great place for a huge selection of lunch options from all over the world -fresh Italian pasta and pastries, champagne bar, flammkuchen, indian, Thai, japanese, Brazilian, Afghani, Persian...and some I can't remember! On Friday evening they were open late for dinner (maybe this happens other days too) and had live music, so it was a great atmosphere. Great for groups as you can choose from something to suit all tastes and enjoy it together. It can get very busy at lunch time so arrive early, especially if you have a group.

I really enjoy this place, it has a couple of advantages over any restaurant around: 1. Prices are quite good: e.g. paid 9 EUR for Chicken Masala with vegetables. 2. If you go out with friends, you don't need to pick a place which fits everybody's interest. This place has tons of options, from vegan to meat, from Indian to Brasilian. The disadvantage is that it is pretty crowded. But we always found a place where we could eat and enjoy.

No wonder anyone under 50 goes there for the DJ nights. We were there 8 people tonight (mid 30s) and we were constantly harassed by the "elite older clientele".

First, one woman approaches saying we are "on the way", she can't see anything (uhm what is there to see lady, we are side by side on the dance floor).

Then two other women, from the other side of the dance floor, leave their seats and one of them pushes my friend with her both hands from her waist saying "go go go". And my friend goes "what? We are dancing here too?" And she says "no you can't stand here with your drink." My friend doesn't even have a drink and she is dancing with us. After my friend refuses to move (and it is still a wonder to me how this woman touches/pushes someone else!!) she comes back with security!! The security tries to move us aside. And we are explaining that it is that women came to us, pushed our friend and now we have to go?! The guy goes "no no you have to go aside".

And then another woman starts to talking to someone else in my group saying that we can't dance there with our own circle we have to be individuals.

Literally the most entitled people ever.

In the end, the security reluctantly said something like "yeah I know it is unreasonable but these people are the regular clientele here."

So, that's why if you are under 50 and have friends, you should not stay there after 8, it fills up with entitled...
