🍛 Annam Wandsbek – A Great Find Near Wandsbek Markt 🍛
Small, comfortable, and great food for the price, with a few standout dishes and drinks.
Annam offers a cozy spot for a casual meal with a mix of highs and lows in the menu.
Appetizers:
Wantan: We loved these! They were well-fried and had great filling, though I wasn’t a fan. Shrimp Summer Rolls: Not worth it for me; the rolls weren’t impressive, and I didn’t enjoy the peanut sauce either. Main Dishes:
Yellow Curry with Fried Chicken: A cohesive and fulfilling dish 🐓🍛. The rice was well-cooked, and the curry wasn’t too spicy but had an interesting blend of spices.
Tempura Sushi: Just like any other fried sushi—unfortunately, not a good representation of Japanese cuisine 🍣❌.
Fried Shrimp Dish: Not recommended; the shrimp didn’t seem very fresh, which was disappointing.
Drinks: The Mango Lassi stole the show! 🥭 It was fresh, sweet, and incredibly refreshing—an absolute must-try. You should try both the Mango Lassi and also Mango Berry.
We paid almost 50 EURs, but this was for 2 persons, 2 appetizers, 2 drinks and 2 main dishes.
Tips for a better visit 🥟 Try the wantan if you like well-fried appetizers with flavorful fillings. 🥭 Don’t leave without trying the mango lassi—it’s the star of the menu! 🍛 Go for the yellow curry for a satisfying and balanced main dish.

Read moreWeekday lunch time, there were not many people at the restaurant. I ordered summer rolls and lime aid. That day I felt uncomfortable with my stomach so I only ate half of it and asked the waitress to pack the rest. She came to me with straight face, looking at somewhere else and said “It’s so little portion, you can’t even finish it?” I clearly didn’t need any judgment why I couldn’t finish my meal, especially with such unpleasant attitude. Obviously it is another germanized fusion restaurant, I only went there cuz I was invited. Guess would never go there again, no intention to...
Read moreGreat price, amazing food, quick service, friendly and helpful staff. They serve both Chinese and Vietnamese food. The restaurant got a new name now as "Co do Hue", so maybe they will change their sign soon. The restaurant has nice Chinese ambience with detailed "oriental" decorations, if that is your vibe.
Their Bún bò Huế is tasty (with almost the same toppings in Vietnam), so is Bún chả. The waitress is from Huế herself and she said the Bún bò tastes good, so I trust her :)
You can order cripsy pork belly and Peking duck to go. Paying with card is possible. Absolutely...
