Racist staff. Me and my girlfriend were visiting Hamburg from the UK for a couple of days and I had to take some medication early morning after my breakfast. We found this place online and went only because of the good reviews.
My girlfriend (Italian citizen) entered first and the waiter was smiling and greeting her politely. As I entered the cafe after her and as soon as the waiter saw me (Indian citizen), he just stopped smiling, started making faces and gave us the worst seats in the cafe. He was a tall middle-aged man with greyish hair.
At this point, I didn't even realise what was happening. Later, another server came to our table and asked if we are ready to order. He had black hair with a top knot.
My girlfriend took the initiative to order. She said "Two cappuccinos...". The server interrupted her saying "Another else?" She replied "Two crossaints...". He interrupted her again with a gesture with his hands "Anything else?".
At this point, we knew we weren't welcome there. And despite of the fact that we wanted to order much more, we just said "That's it".
Later this server went to the other person who gave us the seat in the beginning and started complaining in German. For some reason, they assumed that we didn't know the language, but we did heard everything.
They weren't happy that we were taking space in their cafe and had no money to order a big breakfast. And because of us, they had to turn people away.
As mentioned earlier, we wanted to try and eat much more than just two cappuccinos and crossaints, but we didn't wanted to put put money in such disgusting people's pockets.
We just got our items that we ordered and left within 10 minutes after I took my medicines. Felt so uncomfortable and suffocating because of the behaviour of the people in the cafe. Can't even rate the food as our mood was ruined due to this experience. And I don't even know if they spat in my coffees in the kitchen before serving it to us or not.
I hope the people who served us read this review. And I want them to know that I hope, one day you'll get treated the same way you treated us and someone puts you in your place.
Regardless, remember that your job is customer service, and if you can't even do this properly, you won't do anything better than being servants to people...

It's actually a one star however the coffee was redeeming enough to earn a second star. I cannot in good conscience recommend Café Paris...keep walking.
We were ignored after being seated and given the menus to the point where I had to go inside after about 12 minutes and find a member of the staff, all 5 wait staff were just talking inside, not running the floor.
They then came out 2 minutes later, but attended to 3 other tables first, and then took our order. About 25 minutes later. Two other tables that ordered after us were served both their drinks and food before us. We had to wait a further 10 minutes. They weren't even half full, so not so busy.
The English breakfast is a joke. Menu states scrambled eggs, is a plain 2 egg omelette, when I questioned that, I was told, "yeah that's our scrambled eggs". I had ordered extra egg as part of the breakfast and it came as a separate omelette again, on another plate at a different time.
As you can see in the picture, I received a spoonful of cold baked beans, so few in fact that I amused myself by counting them. The photo is not missing any beans. A spoonful of beans in an English breakfast... Seriously.
The bacon was 80% fat, so basically the cheapest bacon that you can find. I ask myself, how hard are you failing when you get bacon wrong...it's just so easy to get it right.
They forgot the croissant that I had ordered, and I had to inform them upon paying at the end. The removed it without any fuss, but no apology came for forgetting part of my order.
Although, either inexperienced or incompetent, the staff were friendly enough.
The coffee was good, real full fat milk, good espresso, only...
Read moreNot ever going back. Wedding group at Bel Etage, we waited 1:15h for some cold étagères and our drinks to arrive (the coffee was handwarm and some drinks were even wrong ones) . Until then they only had bread and butter on the table. Due to the long wait for the food, we only had 45min of our 2h time frame to eat, couldnt order a second round of drinks etc. The ham was of cheapest discount quality, ham and the cheese was half dry cheap slices, almost impossible to separate due to having been lying around for hours, the tomato and cucumber slice was completely lifeless and dry - this breakfast was not fresh at all, it had obviously been prepared hours ago - but still needed an hour to arrive. The bread was of the cheapest wheat stuff, not even baguette or sourdough, even Bäckerei Junge or Gaues make better bread. And in the end, since we only had such a short time to eat, they even dared to complain that we didnt reach the minimum consumption and “offered” a round of Cremant - but not for free, only to meet the consumption threshhold (although people were already packing to leave). After intense discussion, they agreed to have us only pay the consumed amount of food and threw a round of macarons. This was easily the worst culinary experience I had in years. I dont know what still keeps the name if this institution alive but it will have definitely seen the last of us. Quality, value, service, an absolute disaster. And please note: this was no corona issue. They were understaffed for the amount of people (which they knew 4 weeks in advance) and the way they handled the situation until the very last minute was plain disappointing and...
