My boyfriend and I headed to this area without a reservation. We tried one other place with slightly higher reviews without luck. Choose this restaurant by chance, because it was close by and honestly, I am glad the first place turned us down because this restaurant was exactly what I wanted!
They were able to seat us within 10 mins and even let me bring my small dog, as long as she stayed under the table (which she did the whole time, because my dog is perfect in every way). This place was packed but the service was extremely fast. The wait staff were running around nonstop to get everyone their food and drinks. It was the best service I've gotten since moving to Germany.
The menu was in English and the wait staff were able to talk to us in English as well. They were very courteous.
We ordered a bottle of the Vino Verde, 4 tapas (Spanish omellete, peppers, dates with bacon and mushrooms) and the mixed grilled seafood platter. It was our only meal of the day and still we had trouble finishing it and had to take some home. The tapa portions were generous and the fish platter was huge. I would order every single of these dishes again when I come back (and I will). The Vino Verde was great too. Everything was about 75 euros, which I think is more than reasonable. All in all, instantly one of my favourite...
Read moreIf you eat here, you need to be prepared to move tables in the midst of your dinner, take your glasses and everything else with you. We had reserved a table for 18.30 and were told that we can have it until 20.30 - 2 hours, fair game. We had to wait until 18.45 before we were taken to our table. We ordered 4 tapas, paella for 2 and a bottle of red. 1 hour and 15 minutes in our dinner (at 20.00) - we had finished the paella and had just ordered dessert - we were told to move to another table ("you have to move to a different table, since we need this table for 4 now"). So we had to juggle our wine glasses, water glasses, the bottles and our coats and moved to a different table, where already 2 other guests were waiting for their dinner. Completely unacceptable, we paid 100EUR for this experience and left immediately. This impolite behaviour seemed to be normal at this restaurant, since we had observed the same happening to 2 Japanese guests earlier that evening. The food was average. So in total I do not see any reason to...
Read moreThe first time we came here, we had a great experience. We ordered the vegetarian and seafood paella along with the whole fish — everything tasted excellent, and the service was very friendly.
We visited again on a Saturday evening with a prior reservation. However, it seemed they had forgotten our booking and didn’t have a table ready for us. We waited about 15 minutes while they tried to find an alternative. We would have preferred to be seated indoors, but we were only offered an outdoor table — unfortunately, that turned out to be a nightmare for us, as the neighboring tables were filled with people smoking non-stop. Since all of us are non-smokers, it really affected our experience.
This time, we ordered the Spanish omelette and patatas bravas as appetizers, followed by the vegetarian and seafood paella for two, and a beef dish with pepper sauce. The food was great again, but the service was disappointing. Not only was our reservation overlooked, but the staff also lacked...
