Restaurante Porto — Restaurant in Hamburg

We reserved a table for six people and came a few minutes earlier to make sure that we don't lose it, but the table wasn't available yet. That would be completely fine if we got our table the time we were supposed to have. Not only they didn't offer us a drink or anything at the bar until we had our table, but also they asked us to wait outside for extra ten more minutes.

Besides, the waiter who was responsible for our table was kind of rude as well. He even asked if we had done with food yet after few minutes of getting our meals, although it was obvious that we hadn't yet. It was very mood killer actually. The second waiter was way nicer, but he served us at the end only.

Meals were tasty and prices were reasonable. I wish they would be nicer so that I could go this...

What a gem! A friend and I came across Porto by chance. They were fully booked for dinner, but were able to seat us at the bar in the early afternoon. We had a bottle of absolutely outstanding wine, the prawns, octopus, and I had the fish soup. I am not exaggerating when I tell you it is one of the best meals I have ever had in my life. I'd go back just for the butter that they serve with the bread. Not only was the food exceptionally excellent, but we had a chance to chat with the staff, and they were helpful, kind, friendly, and lovely to know. An excellent restaurant in the portugese neighborhood by the port of Hamburg. The fischsuppe was good and the fish fresh. We had the Squid and the mixed Fish plates, both were reasonably priced and delicous! I was not sure about the wines and the waiter let me try three different wines. The waiter was very professional and the service of high quality. We can can only think of two negatives, 1) the Alma Alvarinho is a bit overpriced for 9.10€/glas and we didn't get to sit outside (even when we reserved but didnt specifically mention an outdoor table).
