Summary: Disgraceful customer service.
We were visiting Hamburg the first time and wanted to eat local in a typical German establishment. I have been a waitress for 7 years during university, and would have never imagined someone would not being fired for the absolutely disgustingly rude customer service we experienced at EierCarl.
A younger man with blonde hair, and a brunette woman (around mid 40) who obviously lack in any common manners were extremely rude to me and my peers. The man called us "stupid" multiple times when we asked about the meaning of "Alsterwasser", obviously entertained by himself by his shocking behaviour. He also refused to bring a small glass of tap water, additionally to the juice which my friend ordered. Considering that we were planning to order soft & alcoholic drinks, and food, we were quite surprised that a glass of tap water would be such a problem. Either way, it is no excuse for being irritable and rude to paying customers.

Read moreStay clear of this establishment. You would normally expect of a bar/restaurant to provide a pleasant service to paying customers. Sadly for Eier Carl, you wont get it. So do them a favour and pass them by and go find one of the many other options available steps away.
We stopped by foe hot drinks on a cold day and I went straight to use the restroom while my husband waited for me and then to be seated. The woman working there yelled so loudly at him that everyone started looking at us. He explained to her that we are customers. She was rude, yelled at me, didn't listen to any explanations and we left. All because she thought we used her restroom without being a customer. After we had left, I decided to come back to talk to her. She started yelling as soon as I walked in, didn't listen to a word I was saying. I've never been mistreated like this in my life....
