A Complete Disaster – Avoid at All Costs!

If you are looking for an authentic Indian dining experience in Hamburg, DO NOT come here. This was, without a doubt, the worst Indian food I have ever had, and I genuinely regret every euro spent.

First off, the service was painfully slow. It took nearly 30 minutes just to get a menu, and when we finally managed to place an order, we waited another eternity for food that was absolutely not worth the wait.

Now, let’s talk about the food – if you can even call it that. The butter chicken tasted like a cheap tomato puree dumped over boiled chicken with zero flavor. The so-called "spicy" dishes were bland beyond belief, as if the chef had never heard of Indian spices before. The naan was dry and rubbery, the dal was watery, even the raita, something as simple as yogurt and cucumber, tasted off.

To make matters worse, the prices were outrageously high for the quality served. I wouldn’t mind paying a premium for authentic Indian cuisine, but this was nothing short of highway robbery.

By the time we left, we were not only disappointed but also felt slightly unwell. Either the ingredients were not fresh, or the kitchen had some serious hygiene issues.

We went for dinner at an almost empty restaurant, with just four people including us. The waiter approached within five minutes, but we weren't ready to order. Despite telling him we needed more time, he kept standing there. I ordered chicken biryani and asked if it contained anything other than chicken, but the waiter interrupted, insisting they had vegetable biryani instead. I tried to explain that I wanted chicken biryani without vegetables, but he didn't listen and kept talking over me. Ich löse an einem Donnerstag Abend einen Gutschein für zwei Personen ein. Wir betreten das Restaurant und bekommen einen guten ersten Eindruck. Es sind schöne Bilder an der Wand und man geht auf ein Weinregal zu. Rechts abgebogen erkennen wir den Tresen. Es erfolgt ein freundlicher Empfang und wir geben unsere Reservierung bekannt. Der Tisch wird uns gezeigt und der Gutschein entgegen genommen. Wenig später erfolgt die Bestellung der Getränke und die Abfrage nach den gewünschten beilagen von einer weiteren Bedienung, die ebenfalls sehr sympathisch daherkommt. Die Getränke erreichen mit sehr kurzer Wartezeit den Tisch. Wenig später folgt die Vorspeise. Es ist eine gut gemachte Gulaschsuppe. Sehr löblich ist der gute Anteil vom Rindfleisch. Außerdem ist es sehr erfreulich, dass die Speisen wirklich heiß unseren Platz erreichen. Das macht doch Freude auf mehr. Der Hauptgang besteht aus einem klassischen Grillteller. Fachlich gut gemachtes Fleisch, von dem mich das Rindfleisch am meisten überzeugen kann. Das Geflügel war für meinen Geschmack etwas zu lange auf dem Grill und leicht trocken, aber immer noch gut zu genießen. Besonders positiv möchte ich die Beilagen hervorheben: Hier gibt es viele Steakhäuser, die keinen Wert drauf legen. Das Gemüse schmeckt hier super gut und ist toll gewürzt, die Bratkartoffeln kommen ebenfalls wunderbar und heiß auf den Tisch. Auch die Portion kann vollauf überzeugen. Wir verzichten beide auf eine Nachspeise. Insgesamt hat das Rindock`s hier sehr viel richtig gemacht. Die normalen Preise sind mit 15,90 € für den Grillteller und 4,90 € für die Gulaschsuppe...
