You are travelling to Hannover, your budget is limited yet you want to try something good, authentic, fulfilling and most importantly inexpensive then Ruenthai is the place to go. No doubt, it offers food similar to typical imbiss one can find in every corner in Germany (during lunch), which means there are clearly better place to experience the diverse varieties of thai food. However, they execute what they do astonishingly. The food tastes just as authentic as any food stall found in Thailand and they are damn good. They also makes use of certain asian specific ingredient (beside curry, soy sauce) like black fungus, lemon leaves. In short, they taste way better than the typicalthai imbiss for the same or even cheaper price. For sure they are not the best but for 7e90, you get a bowl of soup, a huge serving of rice and a big plate of dishes of your choice and that is a bargain hard to beat. I haven't try their dinner menu so I will not discuss about it here Besides, their staff are friendly, they take the first serve of rice to your plate as a way of showing hospitality to the customers. The place looks a bit dated and old fashioned but it is spacious and comfortable enough to settle in. Am vorletzten Mittwoch beehrten wir mal wieder mit vielen Menschen das "Ruenthai", ein thailändisches Restaurant in der Innenstadt.

Sieht immer noch so aus wie immer, typisch asiatisch und thailändisch, aber früher empfand ich die Preise immer als recht hoch - mittlerweile ist er im Vergleich zu anderen Restaurants fast günstig.

Ich gönnte mir die obligatorische Lychee-Schorle, dann teilte ich mir eine Vorspeisenplatte: Allerlei Frittiertes, Garnelen im Teig, Frühlingsrollen, Wan Tan, Fischfrikadellen und Hühnchen-Spieße, mit zwei verschiedenen Soßen und Gurkensalat. Köstlich! Gerade, wenn man den Tag über wenig gegessen hat, ein wunderbarer, schön frittierter, würziger, köstlicher Einstieg, mit 18,90 Euro auch nicht zu teuer. Die Fischfrikadellen mit Curry, Limettenblättern und Bohnen waren allerdings für meinen Gaumen gewöhnungsbedürftig.

Danach wählte ich Pad See-Ew Gai, Reisbandnudeln mit Erdnuss, Broccoli, Möhren, Eiern (und eventuell Hühnchen). Im Grunde gebratene Nudeln in einer schönen herzhaften Soße, echtes Soul Food. Ich habe es geliebt, für 14,90 Euro ebenfalls nicht teuer. Die Karte hat relativ viel Auswahl, im Grunde die ganzen klassischen Thai-Gerichte.
