While Bohemian Kids does have good coffee and hip decor, I cannot recommend anyone take their business here. Please see my other reviews for comparable cafes in the area with more welcoming atmospheres.
I've spent time in cities far busier than Leipzig-- Shanghai, New York, Boston, Tokyo, to name a few-- and in cafes far more cramped than Bohemian Kids. Yet it was here that, for the first time, I was told to leave and make space for other customers.
I understand that this is a busy spot. I also try to be courteous and accommodating when it comes to seating; it’s often I myself who can't find a place to sit down. That said, I think this situation was handled very poorly, and as a paying customer I expect better. Maybe apologize for the inconvenience? Or (better yet) offer a discount on a future drink? Offer a stool in the corner? Instead, I was unceremoniously told to vacate my seat. It was kind of embarrassing, to be perfectly honest. (I should note that I usually have a different barista here, and that one is much friendlier. I can't imagine they would've handled things in this manner.)
To be clear, I had not been sitting here for 4 hours (even this isn't a problem in most cafes!). According to Corona-Warn, I had been in the cafe for 1 hour and 43 minutes. I was asked to leave before my 'session' was even complete.
If there is a time limit, make it an explicit policy and post it on the door. Otherwise, don't put paying customers through such an unnecessary and embarrassing experience.

Read moreWarnung: Sehr launisches Personal! Als ich das höflich erklärte, warf sie mich hinaus und sagte auf Englisch: „Get out of my shop, how dare you speak German to me.“ Ich war fassungslos, zumal ich selbst keine deutsche Muttersprachlerin bin. Meine Kollegen und ich fanden dieses Verhalten völlig unmöglich und menschenunwürdig.
English: Warning: Very moody staff!
I visited this café with five colleagues who had traveled all the way from Augsburg. We are an international team and switch between German and English. I recommended this place, saying, “Hey, they have great coffee, let’s go!” Most of us ordered cappuccinos to go since we had to head back to the office.
Outside, we realized we’d forgotten to order something for another colleague. When I went back to place the additional order, one of the three women working there scolded me in a rude tone, saying we shouldn’t order “to go” if we were still there. She claimed we’d already finished our coffees, which wasn’t true. When I politely explained, she suddenly threw me out and said in English: “Get out of my shop, how dare you speak German to me.”
I was shocked, especially as I’m not a native German speaker myself. My colleagues and I found this behavior unacceptable and utterly...
Read moreI really wanted to go to this place but the probable is that inside is small and I have a baby. The weather was good so I could sit and enjoy it the time but the problem was to order. There were a lot of people waiting to order and I could not get in the queue because my baby was sleeping in the Kinderwagen. I got a pumpkin spice latte and I did not feel so much the spices. It’s a little expensive the avocado toast and I was expecting more. I would like to try again, but this time just a cappuccino and cake, and without baby because...
