I’m not a food critic. I’m just an ordinary guy who wanted to take his wife out for an elegant dinner and try something new. And oh boy, did we experience something new.
C’est la Vie Leipzig is exactly that kind of place where those small, artistically presented dishes are served. If you’ve never been to a place like this, or you’re looking for somewhere special to take your girlfriend or wife – go there. You’ll thank me later.
You don’t come here just to eat. You come here to experience. Trust the waiters, let them guide you, and allow yourself to be led through this spectacle of pleasure. The chef has something to say through his work – you just have to let yourself discover it on the plate.
Four courses, with appetizers, turn into three blissful hours filled with emotion – hours best spent with someone close to you, because that makes the whole experience even deeper and more beautiful. Together with my wife, we discovered a new form of art. And you won’t truly understand it – just like you can’t understand riding a bike or kissing someone you love – until you’ve lived it yourself.
This kind of cuisine can truly touch you. Thank you to the entire C’est la Vie Leipzig team for taking such great care of us and letting us discover...
Read moreMy husband and I had a wonderful dinner last night. There is a very flexible menu and we were therefore able to taste many dishes, degustation style. The food is based on classic French cuisine but with very creative, modern touches and combinations of flavours, utilising many different herbs, spices vegetables and fruits. The dining room is elegant and glamorous, but not overwhelming. The staff are certainly not austere or formal- which we have indeed experienced in other Michelin starred restaurants in Leipzig. Their English is also excellent so this is very helpful for tourists. we had a memorable delicious dining experience which we will treasure for years to come. The cutlery is top of the range Villeroy and Boch so entirely appropriate for a restaurant of this style. High highly recommended -especially if you only have one night to choose a meal in Leipzig. This restaurant is the gold medal winner...
Read moreC'est la vie is my favorite French restaurant outside of France. While perhaps one or two two- or three-starred Michelin restaurants in Paris may have had slightly more memorable food, the overall experience of the warm welcome, outstanding food and wine, and professional yet friendly service make this an outstanding restaurant. The fish and seafood dishes are particularly exemplary.
Like most outstanding French restaurants, dinner is a three-hour or so affair, so plan to make an evening of it. The staff speaks excellent English and is very knowledgeable about the food and wine choices.
With a four-course price of 80 Euros, C'est la vie delivers outstanding value. In my opinion, dinner here alone is well worth a trip to Leipzig, though the city offers several other attractions to...
