I had just 3-starred l'Osteria but after our email exchange, I think this team that values customer experience deserves to have a real review. So, I am copying here my first email. What a refreshing experience comparing with some restaurants who call lawyers to delete negative reviews! I will definitely go to this restaurant again. Hello Dear L'Osteria Team,
I really find valuable that you seek ways to improve customer experience, so I thought I would show appreciation by giving some feedback as you asked for.
Food was not meeting my expectations for various reasons. First, carbonara with cream. I know that is appreciated by some people but for me it is a no go. Call me purist :) Second, my seafruit pasta was overcooked. I would really have loved to have it al dente. As starter, we ordered a margarita. It tasted fine, not more.
On the contrary, we were a huge group and I know that big groups are usually annoying and difficult to handle. Two waitresses served our food and drink and they were very polite and nice. There have been some hiccups but that is OK. Atmosphere... you do have a nice place, really. So for these two aspects I gave some nice yellow stars.
I hope this helps. I'll post it publicly as well so people don't have wrong and purely negative impression about your restaurant.
Thank you and best regards.
The team also replied to my email nicely but I'm not adding it here. This review is already...
Read moreWe came to the restaurant around 4pm on a Tuesday. It was pretty much empty inside, with some seats taken outside. First, we ordered Bruschetta, for which we waited 40 MINUTES. They forgot about it - which happens, but it was the first red flag. It also wasn't very good, the bread was way too thic and there were only tomatoes no balsamic or anything not even on the side (but ok, maybe thats personal preferance). Then, we ordered: Carbonara, Orecchiette di Manzo al Limone and Risotto Funghi. Despite the Italian names, the Carbonara was not very well made, and definitely not how its supposed to be. The risotto was soggy, and the mushrooms didn't seem fresh. The Orecchiette was drowned in sauce, which was overbearing the taste. Oh, and we also waited for the food for around AN HOUR total (with bruschetta after 40 minutes). Overall, would not recommend if you like italian food- you will not get good authentic italian food here. The...
Read moreI’ve been a loyal customer of this Italian restaurant chain for the past 8 years, and it never disappoints. The pizzas are absolutely huge and incredibly delicious – truly some of the best in Mannheim. The staff is always super friendly and welcoming, which makes every visit a pleasure.
Prices are very reasonable, especially considering the portion sizes and quality. During peak hours, the wait time can be a bit long, so I highly recommend making a reservation in advance.
The seating is comfortable both inside and outside, and the location couldn’t be better – right at the iconic Wasserturm in Mannheim. Another plus: there’s a parking garage just a few steps away, making it easy to get there even on busy days.
Highly recommended for anyone who loves quick Italian food in a...
