Best Western Plus Delta Park Hotel — Hotel in Mannheim

Front desk service while checkin and checkout - nice.||Hotel In general - nice.||Cleanliness - good.||Customer service - crap.||||3 people stayed in our room. We had three keycards. One card had to stay in the wall by the door in order to have power for the lights. This is normal. Overnight, that keycard disappeared. We noticed this when we couldnt turn the lights on. We had our valuables in the safe. Before going to bed I left my watch in the bathroom. My friend was witness to this. In the morning i couldnt find it. I (we) was tired and figured i had packed it. Turns out i had not packed my watch. I contacted best western customer service and they contactet the hotel for me. Delta plus replied that I should contact lost and found from a local music festival and that i couldve left it behind there. I find this frustrating and, actually, kind of rude after clearly stating that i had my watch in the room, last before going to bed!!!!! I work in customer service myself and this is not the way to go about it!!! Someone had been in our room while we were sleeping. Theres no way around that. Not a good experience. Beware of the hidden deficiencies not stated clearly on the website of this hotel. Apparently, all rooms are NOT air-conditioned, CONTRARY to the FALSE Claim and what it states on the website under Room and Hotel Amenities. Another False claim is that Breakfast is for a 'Nominal Fee'. That nominal fee is 20 Euros per person. This is not 'nominal' and is unlike almost all other Best Westerns I have stayed at. The room we were assigned had a Bad odor, of Rotten eggs/sulfur, which was very persistent. The only redeeming factor was one kind employee (a young male, very pleasant) who agreed that the room had a bad smell, and offered to give us another room. But other than this employee, the other older staff at the Check-in and the Bartender lady were plain rude and condescending. ACHTUNG RAUCHERHOTEL! Zunächst mal die positiven Aspekte: Das Frühstück ist hier zu Coronazeiten wesentlich besser gelöst als in deutlich teureren Häusern. Es gibt immerhin ein Mini-Büffel (alles abgedeckt) und die Bedienung und die Küche sind sehr gut. Jetzt die anderen Aspekte: Das Hotel hat einen schönen kleinen Innenhof zu dem auch viele Zimmer gehen. Der Innenhof gehört zum Restaurant und man kann hier auch frühstücken. Leider ist hier das Rauchen erlaubt. Sobald ein Raucher zur Kippe greift, ist für Nichtraucher die Atmosphäre dahin. Da der Hof sehr klein ist, steht der Rauch und zieht noch dazu in die Zimmer und ins Restaurant rein. Ich war eine Woche hier und das Problem bestand jeden Tag - dieses Hotel scheint also ein Geheimtipp für Raucher zu sein. Bei der Zimmerauswahl habt Ihr also die Qual der Wahl : zur Straße = ziemlich laut oder zum Hof (Garten) = Risiko, dass ein paar Raucher Euch die Luft verderben. Die Zimmer zur Straße sind von Zigarettenrauch sehr wahrscheinlich auch betroffen. Am Nebenausgang auf der Keplerstraße rauchen die Hotelmitarbeiter. Das zieht garantiert auch in die Zimmer. Das Treppenhaus an dem Nebenausgang stinkt jedenfalls ekelig, wenn dort davor geraucht wird. Zu den Zimmern: Es ist alles da, was man in einem Businesshotel der 4 Sterne Klasse erwartet. Positiv ist, daß man die Fenster richtig öffnen kann. Allerdings ist so Einiges etwas seltsam. Die Bäder bedürfen einer Überarbeitung. Ist alles etwas alt und nicht mehr zeitgemäß. Duschen muss man in der Badewanne. In meinem Zimmer hatte der Wasserhahn eine nicht mehr entfernbare Verschmutzung, die Toilettenspülung tropfte permanent und es ist halt alles schon in die Jahre gekommen. Die Kosmetikprodukte, die ich extra bezahlt habe, hatten ein Herstellungsdatum von 2013 (jetzt haben wir 2020), das Zeug ist also 7 (SIEBEN) Jahre alt! Ich habe das Zeug entsorgt. Wie kann sowas passieren? Der Möbeltresor im Zimmer ist nicht verschraubt, ein böser Mensch könnte den ganzen Kasten einfach mitnehmen etc. etc.

Fazit: Frühstück gut. Zimmer so lala. Raucher fühlen sich hier wohl,...
