Murphy's Law — Restaurant in Mannheim

The bag of mayo was my food highlight for the night.

For the first time in my life, I understood why Gordon Ramsey has those shows where he tries to save the place with very bad food. Before having dinner at this place I didn't realise people can serve such poor quality food.

As a person who really enjoyes food (any and almost all), the first bite of the sheppards pie from this place came as a shock. It was not good. It was far from good. Buckshot dry minced meat, blunt potatoes, randomly soft or hard pieces of carrot. A tastless plate of nothing really. It was a major fail.

I was there with friends. Five people, four different dishes, one collective conclusion - this food is not good.

Service is fantastic. Location is very nice. The crowd is decent. I liked outdoor seeting area more. Food is spectacularly bad. Guys, come...

Wir waren gestern Abend zu 4. hier zu besuch. Haben direkt einen Tisch bekommen, was schonmal sehr positiv war. Über die Einrichtung und dem Ambiente lässt sich eigentlich nichts negatives sagen. Urig und relativ Gemütlich. Was allerdings sehr negativ aufgefallen ist, ist zum teil der Service, der Kloake Geruch der durch das gesamte Pub ging und zum teil die Qualität der Getränke. Man bekommt hier schnell den Eindruck dass man einfach nur schnell abgefertigt wird. Als Gastronom verstehe ich dass es in einem vollen Laden gerne mal zu Verzögerungen oder Komplikationen kommen kann, was ja nur menschlich ist. Jedoch kann ich nicht verstehen dass die Bedienung über eine Stunde nichteinmal einen Blick in unsere Ecke geworfen hat. Wenn man aufstehen muss um der Bar zu sagen dass man gerne noch etwas bestellen möchte, ist der Sinn und Zweck des Sevice verfehlt. Die White Russian waren einfach nur furchtbar.... über 6 €... in einem 0.4ltr Cocktail Glas und schmecken nur nach Sahne, Geschmolzenen Eiswürfeln und Vodka.. und oben drauf war noch irgend eine glasige sprühsahne... Zu viel Aufwand, zu wenig Geschmack... ein guter White Russian wird im Tumbler gefüllt mit Eiswürfeln serviert... maximal 5€, 1 teil Vodka, 1 teil Kalua, und dann Auffüllen mit Sahne... fertig... gut und kein schnick schnack👌🏻 Das Bier hat wie immer aus dem Fass sehr gut geschmeckt. Enttäuschend war dass auf meinem Guinness kein Kleeblatt im Schaum war, was ja eigentlich ein Markenzeichen der Irish Pubs ist. Ich nahm das ganze nicht so ernst aber habe zum Spaß der Bedienung gesagt dass ich traurig war dass kein Kleeblatt auf meinem Schaum war. Als Antwort kam dann dass das nur der Chef so schön macht... damit hat der Chef in meinem Augen versagt weil er es nicht auf die reihe bekommt sein Personal ordentlich zu Schulen. Gleichbleibende Qualität ist eine Sache die in der Gastronomie ernst genommen werden sollte, selbst wenn es um etwas so Banales wie ein Kleeblat im Schaum geht... Selbst für ein Irish Pub doch recht teuer... und Mannheim sowie der Laden sind ja jetzt nicht gerade die Creme de la Creme dass man sagen kann die Preise sind ok. Der Service war trotz allem doch sehr freundlich und hat auch trinkgeld bekommen. Heute gibt es trotzdem leider nur 3 Sterne... mal sehen wie es beim nächsten...

We were sitting outside and at first the vibe was buzzy and nice. But then we had to move indoors and the atmosphere there was not to our liking, though the place itself doesn't look too shabby. The food was, in the best case blunt. Fish was dry inside the crisp. Fries were looking and tasting sad and flavourless. The shepherd pie was a failure. It felt like they don't know how to prepare meat - it was dry little meat chunks in a blunt sauce. I believe anyone would do better job with same ingredients. Baked/cooked potatoes were boring because they also lacked flavour. Altogether, very untalented chef. The prices are high, almost 30% higher than at other pub we checked out the...
