We have been here to dine for the running sushi on a Friday evening. The service was superb! Initially, we arrived early before opening hours, and they graciously allowed us to enter.
Although the evening running sushi price is hefty($26.80) per pax, don’t let this turn you down. The food selection is incredible, from cooked food to fresh sushi and even sashimi!!
For cooked food, the seasoning was great! It’s unlike another running sushi joint that throws the ingredient into the wok and mixes it with lots of salt, and in turn you will taste nothing instead of just plain salt. The food selection was also awe-inspiring. It has some classic stir-fried food, deep-fried goodies, and even dim sum! The seafood served was also very fresh and huge.
For the sushi, the vinegar used was just the right amount. You can taste the aroma of it along with the fragrance of the rice. They also used Japanese pearl rice instead of regular rice. As for the raw fish slices, it was just fresh and yummy!
Last but not least, the service was great as well. They will clear the plates as soon as they notice you have finished your meal instead of waiting for it to pile into a mountain.
Overall it was a delightful dining experience; the food was excellent, the ambiance was lovely, and the service was outstanding. I would certainly see myself coming back again, perhaps...
Read moreWe have visited Asaka repeatedly over the last 5 years and I am very happy to report that the quality of this establishment is very consistent. We have always tried the all you can eat option, never the A la carte, so my review applies only on this.
The selection of the all-you- can eat is not super-wide. Last time there were different rolls: salmon, avocado, salmon + avocado california, cream cheese with cucumber, strawberry with cream cheese; salmon, shrimp and butter fish nigiri; a little bit of warm food (which I never eat as it always tastes the same); some desserts (pudding, tapioca balls in coconut milk); spring rolls. I would have liked more variety in sushi - e.g. tuna, more shrimp, etc., but you can get along with what was available just fine. I am taking 1* down just because the offer was not that wide as with other running sushi I have visitied in the past.
The restaurant including toilets are both clean and very inviting. We are looking forward for...
Read moreClassical running Sushi, great value for money,
The Asaka offers classical running Sushi with a double conveyer belt. The Sushi is a pleasant surprise, creative and with great variation. Mainly Maki and Nigiri, but with lots of different ingredients. There are also small plates of warm dishes, like Dim Sum, spring rolls and chicken curries. Quite a number of the dishes, including Sushi, are vegetarian too. Sweets include baked bananas, sticky rice, fruit jellies and fresh fruit. Staff very observant to not let the conveyers run empty.
Drinks can be ordered via the staff, there are a variety of soft drinks on offer, beers are part of the menu, as wee as basic teas and coffee based drinks. Staff are friendly and accommodating.
The Ambiente is light and airy, the walls and tables are decorated in what has become typical for asian restaurants in Europe. The restaurant is clean and well kept, even if it is clear that it is not new.
Restrooms are clean and...
