Good location, wide variety of restaurants, excellent and top level spa therapists. However, apart from that, far from luxury service. The rooms are badly insulated, and the interiors are drab. It was very busy and overcrowded. Breakfasts are 4*-hotel style (for those who doesn't drink champagne in the mornings).
We stayed on the 6th floor (room 641). Despite the plain interiors, the room was quite cosy due to natural materials used. The stone floor and wall was not cleaned well in the shower and was stained. The first time I took a tube of shower gel, it was covered with brown fingerprints (looked like someone's foundation). So the cleaning is 3 out of 5 stars. The room had modern switches on walls. Unfortunately the AC did not work despite a beautiful touch screen monitor to manage it. And looks like nobody really checks it. The most upsetting experience was that we could hear each and every step of our neighbours. It was very loud both during the day and at night. Also, while the windows were closed, we could smell a cigarette smoke. I believe it came from the neighbouring rooms and that means that the insulation of the rooms is really weak. If you are allergic to strong detergents or cannot stand chemical perfumes I would suggest avoiding giving your laundry to the hotel cleaning. I got my laundry back with such a pungent smell, that I haven't been able to get rid of it till now. There is no coffee machine in the suite and you will not find loose tea in the hotel. The hair dryer is connected to wall very low under the sink and the cord is quite short so you have to pull the hairdryer up every time towards your head. Uncomfortable. Probably the designer suggested that guests would dry their hair sitting on the floor! As I mentioned, the spa therapists are really professional and know how to relax your muscles and mind. But the spa itself is located on several levels and you have to use lift to get from spa reception to a massage room or to the pool. The only lift can take up to 10 minutes to arrive, and there are no stairs to use as an alternative. I have to mention that the spa reception is located next to the roof bar so be ready to feel quite weird standing in your bathrobe where dressed people go to the bar. I think there is no chance to relax fully in this spa due to a lot of distractions. In conclusion, I think the hotel is a good place for conferences. But if you want to get an exclusive experience of luxury service, do...

Read moreThe location of the Bayerischer Hof is excellent—right in the heart of Munich. During my stay, the hotel was undergoing renovations, and the reception area had been temporarily relocated. Despite this, the check-in process went very smoothly. The front desk agent was calm, friendly, and professional. Although we arrived earlier than the official check-in time and had booked on short notice, he was able to offer us an early check-in, which was much appreciated.||Coincidentally, the same staff member assisted us with check-out. While again polite and helpful, I found it unnecessary to provide my invoicing details a second time, as the ones I had submitted during check-in had apparently not been saved. These are small details, but when they don’t work, they leave the impression of weak internal organization.||We had breakfast only on the first day at the rooftop restaurant, which offers a beautiful view over Munich’s rooftops. However, for the following days, we chose to eat breakfast elsewhere, as the selection didn’t feel particularly special for the price.||Our room faced the inner courtyard, with no real view. More inconvenient was the constant noise from what appeared to be the hotel’s ventilation or extraction systems, which made it uncomfortable to keep the windows open for long. There were also some unexplained noises coming from the bathroom.||On one evening, we ordered room service, which was excellent—high-quality food, beautifully presented, and delivered promptly.||On the third night, I was woken up by the sound of dripping from the air conditioner. I placed a towel on the floor, but the next day, housekeeping didn’t seem to notice, and the issue persisted when the unit was on.|That said, the housekeeping team did a generally very good and detailed job. The room was always clean and well-maintained. However, towels were replaced daily even when hung up, which felt unnecessary, especially considering they were larger and more luxurious than standard hotel towels.||Overall, the hotel is clearly committed to preserving its tradition of elegance and service. With a bit more consistency in operations and attention to small guest-facing details, the experience could feel even more polished...
