Bar Alpina im Schuster — Restaurant in Munich

NOT KIDS FRIENDLY PLACE.

Let me start from the fact that it used to be my favorite place in Munich before I had my daughter. Last week I went to have a coffee here and one of the waiters came up to me saying that my daughter is bothering them because she moved couple of times the chair “loudly”. My daughter is 14 months old and she can’t control that, obviously. We had a drink and left.

Today, I brought a friend of mine with a child of the same age to this place to have a coffee. At some point, my daughter couldn’t sit anymore and I took her hand to walk around the cafe for a bit. Then at some point, the barmen came to me saying: “this isn’t a kindergarten!”. EXCUSE ME? So what you are saying is that it not allowed to have a coffee with my child here anymore? Is my daughter a dog or what? She isn’t, but that’s exactly how they made me feel. In few minutes his colleague came to us saying sorry and explaining to us that sometimes they simply don’t see kids when they are carrying coffee around etc. I get it! But oh well, in my opinion, they should pay attention when walking around with hot drinks anyway, even if there are no kids.

In any case, this simple didn’t happen to me in any other cafe in Munich. Nobody ever told me that my daughter isn’t allowed to be walking around or with me holding her hand. That never bothered anyone.

Despite everything said above, I loved their coffee, hot apple tea in winter and food!

But I will make sure that my friends with kids and all mothers in Munich in general know, that they shouldn’t come here and get stressed...

I must say it was one of my favorite places in Munich but today I got toxic mud spilled on me by one of the waitresses, the same one who made my coffee. The cappuccino I have ordered didn’t taste well. I assumed the reason was milk, that was either not fresh or just strange in its taste. So I came to the bar counter to talk to that waitress about that. I said politely that the milk feels strange in my coffee and that I want to change it to the one with a plant-based milk. She said in irritated manner that the milk was fresh. Another cup of coffee was served to me but the toxicity she radiated at me after, was so angry and unpleasant that it made me simply left. It is totally inappropriate way of treating customers in my opinion. If person cannot communicate well with people, then work in service is definitely not a good choice, so better to change the branch and find something you will really like. Toxicity is not the solution. Good positive energy is always better for your spirit 🌞. Love & peace to everyone :)

P.S.: I hope it was just a bad day for her and she will be fine soon. I wish something nice happen to her later this day that will make her feel...

well it is so dissapointing that the waitress lady was a racist to tourists. If we are not welcomed to this place so write to door like "we don't want any other people than Germans", it is not a thing that you are not used to, right? she was so damn rude. Even she knew we came the place first she took native people's order first. And almost then threw the plate to table. Such an unhappy small person that was. this happened on 16th of september about 14:30-15:00 and the lady was wearing a blue sweater i don't know her name but that was it. I am so sorry for...
