Our friends were visiting so we decided to take a tour around Marienplatz and on the way we just took a tourn to this place because it looked good from the outside. It is traditional Bavarian cuisine and a bier house for Paulaner. We got a table and it took a while for the waiter to come, but it was Saturday so... After that we got our food pretty quickly. We ate classic Weißwurste, hot dog with a lot of stuff in it, ox roast and pork roast. We stuffed ourselves so much we couldn't eat a dessert. Great place and great location. Read moreWhile there are many reviews that complain about the service, I have to assume that this has a lot to do with people being tourists and there being communication gaps and, perhaps, unreasonable expectations. I interacted with 3 different waiters, and all were very nice. Our service was good.
The food, on the other hand, was great. I also really appreciated the updated interior (including the bathrooms) and our view of the street from our own window booth.
We had very good Radler and Helles beers too drink, and shared a delicious Rahmschwammerl with mushrooms (bread dumplings in cream sauce) and an amazing Apple Strudel.

You have the Rathaus view when sitting outside and nicely and modernly decorated atmosphere when inside. My favorite dish is Backhendl served with cranberry jam and sour cream (?). I tasted other dishes as well and they were very tasty. I suggest making a reservation before going. The staff is also kind and helpful.
