La Burrita — Restaurant in Munich

Wow, wow, wow and... wow!

We chose La Burrita at the last minute, having found that Sausalitos had closed, and we are so glad we did.

On arrival (on a Monday night) we found the place heaving full - always a reassuring sign. As we hadn't booked, the friendly waitress explained that we'd need to wait at the bar until a table came free, but this happened before we'd even had time to order a drink.

On to our order, all the glowing reviews on here about the lemonade are absolutely true; we had a Limette-Minze and an Erbeere-Pfirsch, which tasted exactly like a mojito and a strawberry dacquiri respectively.

Food-wise, we shared a bowl of the La Burrita nachos as a starter, which went straight in at the business end of our personal best nacho chart. The coriander particularly 'popped', tasting extremely fresh. For mains we had cheese and spring onion quasadilla and a fajita pollo burrito - both excellent in flavour and perfectly judged in portion size. We finished with desserts of salted caramel cheesecake and warm chocolate souffle. The cheesecake was great, but the souffle was divine!

We couldn't leave without having a margarita - it WAS two-for-one 'Margarita Monday' after all - and the classic margarita we each had was excellent.

La Burrita gets 5 stars in all respects, but only because Google won't permit...

1. the nachos came as an appetizer even tho there was no appetizer section on the menu
2. they brought out the food super fast after realizing they messed up with the nachos and then the food was cold !
3. they sat 3 of us at a table for only 2 people, even tho there was open tables outside, i had to sit on a stool and one of the waiters elbowed me very hard in the back as she walked by and simply said “sorry”
4. told us we wouldn’t get charged for water, and then we did
5. also brought out 2 beers even tho only 1 was ordered ? and not enough waters either
6. the waiter only came by once to ask how the food was, when we said it was cold she said “oh well we can remake it” when they should’ve offered a discount in my opinion
7. the water was almost the same price as a beer - also, the water was tap water even tho a bottle of water was the same price
8. don’t get the waiter with the rejecting eyebrow piercing, from the start she was pretty rude and off putting.
9. only started making small talk at the very end of the meal and (again) the rejecting eyebrow piercing waiter was rude. Her eyebrow was literally blood, with crusted blood around and i feel like that isn’t up to food standards.
10. overall i wouldn’t recommend just eat...

The overall experience we had here was not that great. The price of the food was very for what we got. We ordered the onion and cheese fajita and the jackfruit burrito (which was advertised as €15,50. When we received our bill they charged us €16,50 and, yes, that was without any add-ons), the chips and two dips (the peanut and mango dip was pretty good, but the guacamole was obviously very processed looking and about two thimbles worth of food), and two cocktails. The quality of the food was not that great. You could see the salad was very wilted, the portions were very small (our side of chips was smattering at best), the cocktails were very overpriced for the little alcohol they infused in them. This meal for two people ran us €60 and we left the place hungry. The wait staff was okay, but it took them quite a while to notice we were ready to place our order. I would not recommend this place. I find it ironic they advertise the place as California Street Food and charge sit down...
