Beef Room 61 — Restaurant in Munich

Terrible, so disappointed. When we got there we were greeted by a lovely waiter who took our order for drinks. We ordered x2 beers and x2 waters but only the beers came. We then ordered food which was x2 fillet steak both medium rare, steak house potatoes and slaw. The food took some time too come out and when it did the filet steak was well done! We sent one back and kept one as we were so hungry and needing to eat. When the other one came out it was raw. The quality of steak was cheap. It wasn’t melt on your mouth filet and was more stringy and tough. Was the rougher end of the filet. The deal also came with free glass of wine which was not offered. When we complained they offered to take the x2 beers off. We accepted but felt it was unfair to continue to pay for the second raw steak that we did not eat so asked to take that off the bill. We came here for my birthday and had a really good time at first. However, we had to leave early, aborting the main course, because of health issues of my wife. Our waiter, André, was not only brilliant during the entire night making the right recommendations for wine and for food, he also reacted so incredibly nice and sensible to our situation, making sure that we felt all right about the evening and he even made our entire main course to-go even adding on top a bottle of whine and our desserts. Incredible! This kind of customer service I normally only experience in Asia.

I am blown away by the level of courtesy and professionalism I experienced on this visit. Such brilliant service is really hard to come by, and besides the great quality of the food and the wonderful ambience, this will make us recommend the beef room 61 highly to anyone we know.

Overall it was a great experience, as someone who always visits steakhouse restaurants and was running one, I think I am well equipped to comment on the style an dtheir approach. Overall it's a plus, the service was polite and the girl serving us was spot on, only remark was we waited a bit to get our drinks but nothing drastic as it was rush hour. Meat quality was great as well, although with kitchen being there in front of guests I think they can use more for meat show preparation maybe in front of guests, just a thought but all great 👌

Only thing was ambiance, something felt lacking whether music, lighting, but maybe we just came on non weekend day.
