While I consider myself an epicure with an expansive range of tastes in global cuisine, I must admit that German food was something of an unexplored frontier for me. A week into our journey through Germany, my family and I found ourselves in a culinary conundrum, searching in vain for a meal that truly left an impression.

The solution presented itself in the form of Chandani, an Indian restaurant that caught our attention due to its proximity to our hotel, the reasonable prices, and most notably, the enticing aroma that warmly welcomed us at the entrance. To say we were merely satisfied would be an understatement; Chandani swiftly secured a spot as our favorite dining experience during our travels through Berlin, Munich, Nuremberg, and Prague. In fact, we were so enamored with the delicious fare that we returned for multiple meals.

The culinary delights we savored included the creamy Palak Paneer and the vibrant Mango Chicken, both of which became instant favorites. But it wasn't just the food that shone; the service was exceptional. To illustrate, one incident involved a pesky bee that had taken an interest in our plates. A dedicated waiter bravely tried to capture the bee barehanded, a testament to their commitment to ensuring our dining experience remained uninterrupted.

Each meal was beautifully rounded off with a complimentary chai tea, adding a warm, soothing endnote to the feast. It's difficult to articulate just how much we enjoyed our experience at Chandani.

I am a little surprised at the 5star reviews of this resturant. The food is average and service is below average. We were there with some friends and I was totally disappointed. The location is pretty good, central and the ambience is also nice but besides this the main points food and service is not upto the mark at all.

The service guys firstly did not have any idea about the booking and on asking the reply was different shifts. Well that got sorted out and we had our seats. From the minute they came for the order, I heard them rushing us with the order. Please order quickly is the line I heard a good 10times which was pretty weird because the restaurant was pretty much empty.

I had to explain and order like thrice to both the waiters there before we actually got our food correct, the spices are a joke even for adult dishes and that too after asking please make it a little spicy. For every little extra, they have charged money for e.g. for the kids I ordered extra portion spicy sauce, which I had to explain 10times before they understood what is needed and that too the waiter said, that would be extra.

Its weird the kind of behaviour they have, mentioning extra is ok but not for every thing one orders, it feels like they are checking whether you can afford to have that extra or not!!!! I have been to many restaurants and have never experienced this kind of behaviour, the people put in extra efforts for atleast kid dishes.

The taste of their dishes and the service of their personnel does not justify the kind of prices charged!! First and last time for...

After a full day of exploring, we were simply hoping for a good meal, ideally something flavorful, cozy, and maybe even something our 8-year-old (famously picky) would give a chance. We walked into Chandani Chowk not knowing what to expect… and ended up finding one of the best meals of our entire trip.

The vibe was warm and buzzing, with the kind of atmosphere that immediately makes you feel at home. The service was thoughtful and friendly, always there when you needed something, but never hovering.

Now, the food. Let’s just say: WOW. Every dish on the table held its own, from the creamy butter chicken to the smoky dal to the perfectly crisp naan. And here’s the kicker, our 8-year-old tried Indian food for the first time ever ... and loved it. He ate more than we expected and asked if we could go back. Which we did, on our very last night in Munich.
