UPDATE: I've upgraded my rating for this restaurant after coming back a couple of times since the review below. I tried some of the standards from the central menu like the Bahn Mi sandwiches and the Bahn Mi burger, which are excellent. They seem to be learning what works and what doesn't, and focusing on the excellent central menu over too many specials and smaller plates - good choice :) They have a very good selection of Vietnamese street food dishes, with some particularly unique specials you won't find at other Vietnamese places in town. I tried the spicy rice paper salad with mango strips and dried shrimp, and the chicken fried sticky rice with omelette strips and sliced Vietnamese salami, and enjoyed both.
The decor is cool, overall atmosphere is welcoming and social. My only complaint are the portion sizes... sort of 2/3 of the size I'd expect for a dinner entree, so that one wasn't really enough and two was too much. A good choice if you like smaller...

Pho broth is light in flavor, a good amount of msg, and had the slightest smell and taste of aromatics. Imo maybe the worst Vietnamese Pho I’ve ever had. I took a spoon full of Broth and a bite and gave it away to another party member. There was 1 size, and it was on the smaller size. This Pho would go great with all the stuff Mongs like to add to their Pho.
Would I eat here again? Yes, for Banh Mi and no for Pho.
Banh Mi: 9.5/10 One of the best Banh Mi I’ve ever had.

Read moreBetter than medicine: We’ve always wanted to visit Chi Thu but always ended up eating somewhere else until today.... Let’s begin with the fact that it offers Vietnamese street food.. This colourful place has a different way of serving guests, you will choose your spot and order and pay right away at the counter. The menu is packed with original viet meals (thank god no sweet-sour duck ) like the pho bo and caramelised pork belly with rice. Make sure you get your fresh Goi Cuon rolls filled with tofu, chicken or prawns!! The pork was a thrilling experience: you could cut the meat with your sticks and taste what melted on your tongue like butter.... bathed in an intense salty brew it was accompanied by an egg, rice and a salad that were a perfect side to this magnificent meat. We were impressed by the nice staff and the positive atmosphere that made us want to travel back to Asia. Definitely worth more than one visit if you are an Asian food...
