I give them one star cause I cannot give them 0 Extremely rude waiter , We live right on top of the restaurant and we are coming for lunch and dinner every weekend since we moved in. The waiters on the lunch time are really nice and friendly but the tall blond guy is not nice at all. All started 2 weeks ago when I went to pick up an order . I ordered 2 main courses and 2 desserts. He told me the food will take 45 min as they are pretty busy and I didn’t mind so I waited and come back when the 45 min passed ,then I waited there 30 min ,which wasn’t a problem cause I ordered a drink and I understood that they might take longer as they were busy. Then he gave me my food but without the desserts , I realized it when I was at home so I came back and he told me then if I wanted them I have to wait another 30 min. As I was craving for this chocolate cake I waited and when the time passed he told me unfortunately he cannot give me the cake for take away as it’s coming on a glass I explained him that we live upstairs and I could bring him after and he said no . I asked him if I could a glass from home and he said no , I asked him if maybe he can give it to me in a take away coffee cup and he said : we don’t do that here. Which is weird cause they were giving me the soup in this cup for all the time I was ordering from them. I went home very upset after almost 2 h 15 min of total waiting there. And I decided to come the next day for lunch and explain what happened to the waiters that I know which are lovely and they apologized for him. I came back today for dinner and first we waited 15 min Or more to order . I had to come in to remind him that I was sitting outside. Then I ordered a schnitzel and it came pretty fast but the bread crumbs was so thick that it was separated from the filet and it was really unpleasant. I politely advised him why this can happend and I told him for this time it’s ok cause I don’t want to wait for another one but just for them to know . I didn’t asked for money back or anything like that , his answer was the schnitzel are made like that and we always cook this way we are not gonna change it and I am not gonna tell the cooker if u want do it yourself. After this u could imagine how disappointed I was I explained him that this wasn’t the answer he has to give to a customer . As he is there to face customers complaints if needed and also compliments . Really dissatisfied and I will never come back to this place finally I couldn’t even eat and I paid for that . TOTALLY A WASTE OF...
Read moreThe concept inspired me and my friends to enter during our trip. But I was totally disappointed from the service and the outrageous menu. The proposal on the menu of some dishes did not reflect at all what was really being served. Waiters were not informed of the formats of the dishes that on the menu did not contain all the ingredients that were present in the dish for real. For example, there was no description of the presence of onions, sauces, and other things that were then present on the plate instead (for those who do not like the addition of vinegary sauces and raw onion is terrible). But the thing I couldn't stand was the "zucchini schnitzel" on the menu. I can understand wanting to revisit schnitzel in a vegetarian/vegan way, but you cannot call a dish "schnitzel" if it is not! At the plate I received 6 shrunken zucchini (I counted them) grilled. Arranged one next to the other. I asked if there was a mistake because I was obviously expecting a revised schnitzel as described. The waiter had to ask for confirmation in the kitchen and then told me that the dish was correct. Grilled zucchini (six) is definitely not a revisiting of a schnitzel (tried out of curiosity). I think it is quite unfair to mislead people with purposely wrong menus. The premise of the restaurant was good but we were all disappointed (also considering that six grilled zucchini cost me...
Read moreOh gosh, what happened to Glockenbach Cafe, probably my favourite place in town for coffee and brunch? The new place is totally impersonal and “lieblos”, weird design with wooden benches and tables a la biergarten style (at least on the 1st floor), the cosiness is totally gone, it is not comfortable to stay for a read or a longer chat (probably that’s the purpose). Feels like a canteen or something. Portions were minimalistic … “Geräucherte Forelle mit Meerrettich” and “Schinkenteller” were each around 5 EUR and were served in a mini plate. The fish felt like the one from a discounter garnished with a spoon of radish sauce. Bread was hard and not fresh, food tasted below average and expensive for what you get. From the 3 teas that we ordered, the one was in a dirty cup, another was half-empty. When we said the water is half-empty the waitress (typical representative of German service industry with half-faked smile and helpless) said “OK” and went away :D The only good moment was that my friend got 2 eggs extra by mistake. As a whole, a huge disappointment and def my first and last visit to this...
