I tried the Tonkotsu Ramen, the broth was good and the noodles tasty, however the portion of noodles I found it to be small for the amount of broth in the bowl. I finished the contents on my dish and got left with half a bowl of soup. The price is definitely too high for the value I got from the dish. For a nearly 20 euros bowl of ramen, it was definitely not enough. In my opinion the place is just overpriced. One thing I was hoping to get were real Japanese drinks, they have just sake. When I asked for other drinks, they send me to the drink island inside the place which has generic stuff but nothing Japanese-like. A 0,33L Radler costs more than the normal you pay for a 0,5 litter in other restaurants. They should definitely work on their drink offering. The staff was nice, no complaints about that, however, I thought the waiting period to get in was excessive, some tables were available and we still weren’t let in. When we finally got a table we spent some time just seating until we understood the order has to be made at the counter. A faster explanation of how the service worked would have been nice. All in all, I think this place is overhyped, overpriced and lacks offering. I...
Read moreI was here for a lunch with my Taiwanese and Singaporean coworkers and I’ve got to say that the Ramen are not as good as the reviews say. First of all, the price is really steep, even for Munich, ~15 bucks for a pot of soup is… a lot. What did my head in, though, is that you have to pay extra for a ramen egg… 2€! It’s way too pricey for what is basically a boiled egg marinated in soy and mirin and it just should be included in the dish, as it usually is. The other ingredients of the soup were a bit unusual, too. Nothing that puts you off but also nothing to write home about. A LOT of onion, for some reason salad rocket… The noodles were good, maybe a bit too tough for my taste but that’s subjective. And again: two thin slices of simply boiled chicken breast do not justify the price. Neither does the portion size, it wasn’t even enough to completely satisfy a mild lunchtime hunger, even with the egg. The owner/cook is a likeable guy and he put the food out fast and, to be fair, the broth was quite delicious. However, I paid 17€, came out hungry and with the feeling that it’s just not worth it and so...
Read moreThe ramen was good but In total we waited 2 hours for our food. When we arrived they already told us that we needed to wait around 1h and we asked if it was 1h until we will get the food or the table. They said 1h total and suggest to take a seat and some drinks. We did that and after waiting some time we finally got the table. At that point they asked us if we already ordered and we said no because no one came to take the order. Turns out that it was a self service but we had no idea. When we ordered they told us again that we needed to wait more which turned out to be around 1 more hour. I wish they would had communicate to us immediately how the system worked, we could had order right at the beginning so we didn’t have to wait so much. Maybe it’s because they just opened but it was quite disorganized. I’m hoping it will get better with time. Good thing is that there is a lot of space and you can wait inside. They also gave us free gyoza due to the waiting time which...
