Bartender was a straight patronizing jerk. Very tiny establishment, there is a sign that says please present vaccine card and ID before entering, so open the door and stand in the entrance way waiting for someone to check info. Don't walk all the way inside because most places frown upon this before verifying Covid information. Right after we entered a group was leaving so I kept the door open for them, still at this point nobody has acknowledged us or asked for Covid info. As soon as this group has left the bartender starts screaming at us repeatedly in German, I have a rudimentary understanding of the language but can't decipher what he's saying. Finally in English he yells at us for keeping the door open because it was cold outside, then talks about how it was typical Americans to do such a thing. We tried explaining what the sign on the door said and he immediately interrupts us in a very condescending manner. We had seen enough and just walked out at this point, only then did he half heartedly apologize. Bern traveling Germany for 2 weeks and have had nothing but pleasant experiences every bar/restaurant I've been to, I always try to be respectful of the rules/culture as was the case here. This has been the only issue, not surprisingly I have seen several other negative reviews on google speaking to very aggressively rude behavior from the employees, I can verify this attitude is still prevalent at this establishment
Had to edit because this whole reply by the owner is completely and utterly full of junk and instead of acknowledging his porous attitude has chosen to double down with lies and misinformation which he will deeply regret. We waited outside the door for someone to acknowledge us/check information, nobody came. So no problem came inside, again literally no acknowledgement of any kind. Again, if we had gone for enough inside for the door to be closed we would have barged all the way to the bar which would have been frowned upon almost anywhere I went. Obviously we werenât going to leave the door open all day, wasnât even 30 seconds, assuming someone would either come to check the IDs OR acknowledge our entrance and just motion us to the bar, neither of those things happened. Furthermore, other patrons were leaving just as we entered so the door had been held open for them leaving anyway. I have no clue why you mentioned us not showing vaccine info to you, we literally did everything possible in coherence of your rules and you refused to acknowledge us or look at anything. Only after you decided to be an abrasive jagoff did we choose to leave. Literally all you had to do was come to us at the door or politely motion us to meet you at the bar, instead you inexplicably did neither and decided to act liked an entitled cnt. You literally did everything wrong, there was no misunderstanding. Thereâs a reason that you were our ONLY bad experience, and I see countless reviews repeating identical things about your abrasive, porous attitude, its not a coincidence, time to look in the...

To the bartender/owner, since you canât seem to comprehend this, the sign was read and adhered to, there was no misunderstanding, the only issue was your rude abrasive attitude, 100% on your end. The truth will continue to be spread until you choose to recognize, this kind of customer service is simply unacceptable, there are countless other negative reviews before this week speaking to the same rude attitudes I have mentioned, itâs not a...
Read moreNot even worth 1 star. Donât bother to make a reservation because they wonât honour it. I made a booking on the 5th March for Saturday 23rd March via Quandoo - over 2 weeks in advance for 18:30. We arrive at 18:35 but they had clearly given our table away but didnât like to admit it. We were told by the manager that the indoor bar seating is reserved for âlocals who come here on a repeat basisâ and were offered the outdoor area (on a rainy night) which according to them was desirable with the smokers - no thanks! Why would I book in advance if I knew that the only seating on offer was outdoor?! Whatâs more infuriating is that theyâve had the cheek to mark me as a âno showâ on Quandoo - which Iâve reported as I have proof that we were there at that time from Google Analytics. Ok weâre tourists, but donât treat us like second-rate human...
