Wow! There was no better way to start a review, because this place blew my mind.
I am a huge football fan, and I was searching for over a yer for a place in Munich like this one. If you like football, there is no doubt that you will love it.
First I thought that this place could be a one of the strictly German speaking pubs, but I decided to give it a try and contact them through Facebook in English. To my surprise, I got a prompt replay in fluent English (later on when I visited the place I realised that all the staff speaks English fluently), and a very detailed one.
I was told that I don’t need a reservation on a Sunday most of the time, but just to be sure I told them to leave place for me and my friends (because of the bad experience that I had in other pubs that told me that I don’t need a reservation).
When you get inside, it is like you got inside of a football museum. Lets be fair, I have been to quite a few football museums, but this pub offered much more. The design of the place makes you feel like you are on the stadium watching the game. Even when you go to the bathroom, the place doesn’t stop to impress you, as it is whole covered with stickers of football clubs / fan groups from all around the world.
My impression was that most of the people in the pub were German, and that they were true supporters. Be aware that this is a place where passionate supporters come to watch Bundesliga (all levels), and German teams in European competitions. I assume that watching Bundesliga, and German teams in European competitions is always going to be priority in this pub over watching some other games. While I was there, a two Bundesliga 2 games were on, and more than half of the pub was watching them. On the other hand, I wanted to watch Manchester United against Leeds (it was a game of the Premier League), and they told me that they would play it for me. They did play it, but without sound, as the Bundesliga 2 game sound was on, which is completely understandable taking in mind that half of the pub was watching it, and only one table was watching the Premier League.
Additionally, the staff was super friendly, and the nachos (they were called “Ramos nachos” if I can recall) were really good.
To conclude, if you like football even a little bit, you will love this place, and if you are passionate about football, you will never watch a football game anywhere...
Read moreToday we were there to watch the match Brazil x Croatia. The two waiters that served us the whole time, were super nice, friendly and helpful.
The next reservation (Argentina vs. Netherlands) was supposed to start at 7. At 6.45 the match was over, I was already dressing my pullover and jaquet, when the security woman came, squeezed my right arm for the third time (she squeezed it two times during the game) and said “gehen Sie raus, weil wir den Tisch brauchen .“ I immediately replied that the next reservation started just at 7, that I still had beer and was dressing myself to leave the bar before the next reservation. I always spoke with her in German and treated her as “Sie”, therefore there was not even one offense or informal treatment.
She just simply, aggressively, took the glass of beer (less than 3 fingers of beer) out of my right hand, threatened me, saying that I needed to leave the bar and, if I didn’t do that immediately, she would call her boss. I just answered her: “Please, call him”. I immediately took my beer out of her hands, while another security guy came to threaten me, saying that there was a line of people out of the bar waiting for their reservation. My answer, at 6.50, was: “I am leaving, I am already up, getting dressed and just finishing my beer.” He, then, left.
By that time, people from our and different tables were chocked with her treatment and words. Quite a lot of them complained about the whole situation.
I finished my beer and at 6.53 I was out of Stadion to never come back.
PS: Before they give any answer to this complaint, immediately after the match, we met other Brazilians, Croatians and also Germans out of the bar, and they were all complaining about...
Read moreThis place is indescribably cool! If you like to watch soccer, there is no other place in Munich!! Lots of famous professional soccer stars have been here as fans of the restaurant/ bar as well. It's one of the most fun places I've ever been! The owner is super nice and knows all sorts of trivia about soccer. Everyone is welcome here as the place is a supporter of every team. There's even an FC Cincinnati scarf hanging up on the walls with historic paraphernalia from every team imaginable and signed jerseys from famous players from everywhere. They show different games on different screens and you definitely should reserve your place ahead of time because they will have your seat in front of the game you want to watch. Really fun pub food and the beer is superb! 10 out...
