This place is awesome! I am a very harsh judge when it comes to sushi. I’m a landlocked place like Munich, I know getting fresh fish is not easy nor very affordable, it’s understandable. This place offers a very good variety, with a certain amount of freshness, at a good price, and excellent friendly service! FOOD: the running sushi is constantly supplied which keeps it full no matter where you are sitting. The fish itself is as fresh as it gets, salmon was creamy and refreshing to the body, the tuna was really intense and cool feeling, white tuna, and shrimps were surprisingly rich in flavor and good. Squid is quite nice too, I’m not a big fan of the rubbery texture but it was good tasting. I enjoy that the rice portion is not so big therefore, you do get more fish than rice. The tempura variety is great! There are so many options, including vegetarian ones! Nothing felt too salty or too sweet and the soy sauce was a good add on to the food. I like that they provide a good amount of wasabi and the pile of ginger is just running along with the sushi so you can get it any time! The running sushi includes a miso soup which I really love, it’s not just the water. Also the dessert selection is quite big and they even cocked us some fresh fried bananas which were delicious! The selection of fruits and their freshness was so good that it feels refreshing to have them nice and cool after eating so much! Highlight was the ice cream, the Matcha ice scream was incredibly rich, strong, and delicious, perfect amount of sweet (very very little), it felt like a really good digestive. What I liked is that you could hear quite often the preparation of certain sushi or foods, felt nice and fresh. SERVICE: the guy we had was amazing! Super friendly, he offered us everything they have and encouraged us to eat more and more haha, we really enjoyed our time with the food and with him. ATMOSPHERE: I find this place fantastic, the food, the tables a bit too close to each other but it helps with the whole running sushi dynamics which everyone in other tables seems to enjoy and therefore it is contagious. It is fun, lively, without getting loud or uncomfortably noisy. Definitely...

If you’re looking for an authentic Japanese dining experience, this is definitely not the place for you—unless your definition of Japanese food is supermarket plum wine, overcooked fish, and kimchi that tastes like dessert.

I usually order umeshu at Japanese restaurants, but here it tasted more like a €2 bottle of sweet wine from the discount aisle. The mackerel was so overcooked it could probably double as shoe leather, and the “fresh squid with kimchi” was essentially a sugar-bomb kimchi plate with squid hiding somewhere in the background. The char siu don? Let’s just say the rice was marinating in enough salty sauce to qualify as seawater.

The only thing drinkable was the Kirin beer—and surprise, it’s brewed in Germany.

As for service, the highlight was having the waiter step on my foot without a word of apology. When it came time for the bill, we were encouraged to “help ourselves to the free buffet ice cream” (because nothing says authentic Japanese dining like all-you-can-eat mystery ice cream). We declined, didn’t tip (because, well, why would we?), and instantly watched the waiter’s smile vanish as he threw a non-official receipt at us. When we asked for a proper one, he turned rude and silent. To top it all off, he brought us fortune cookies with the bill—as if we had somehow wandered into a Chinese takeout by mistake.

Overall, I can only recommend this place if you’re conducting a study on how to ruin Japanese cuisine and hospitality in a single sitting. Otherwise, save your money—and...

Warning to travelers to Munich, as multiple reviews pointed out, this is NOT an authentic Japanese restaurant, owner and wait staff were conversing in Chinese (I felt it’s a bit cheeky trying to have a menu item written in Japanese whereas it’s clear as day this is ran by Chinese owners /staff, the food was a very Chinese-styled Japanese food). Food is subpar for the price, and sushi rice is way too sticky, definitely not authentic Japanese cuisine. Cleanliness is not amazing, but the worst part by far is the service, we got brushed off 4-5 times by both wait staff when we said we wanted to get the check, they just kept saying yes and then disappeared, this went on for a solid 25 minutes and we kept seeing new customers getting served (either ordering food or even people who asked for the check later than us paid a solid 10 min ahead of us) during which we kept asking for the check. Not sure whether this is a language barrier issue as we don’t speak German and the staff don’t speak English (at least not to us), so you might face similar situation here if you don’t speak German as well. Overall, for the price there’s definitely better, authentic Japanese...

we were 6 and 2 of them wanted the sushi buffet so we sat at the table next to the running sushi bar. so the other 4 got food from the menu. while we were all waiting for the food of the 4 people to come out, so that we could start eating together, the people that work there came over and told the 2 ppl to start eating their sushi buffet like they weren’t happy that 4 people choosing food from the menu and not getting buffet and they just wanted us to eat quickly?? they weren’t friendly and they made us feel like they wanted us to eat quickly so that we can leave the sushi bar… and also the food wasn‘t really good and authentic, there weren’t so many choices with buffet and sushi, food didn‘t look that fresh and all prices in the menu were really random, some were cheap and some were just randomly expensive, also i don‘t understand why they need to hide the price away and not show them on ggmaps???
