A Mixed Experience at Block House Nuremberg

I recently dined at Block House in Nuremberg, eager to indulge in a hearty steak dinner at this well-known chain. Overall, my experience was a mixed bag, with some notable highlights and a few areas that left room for improvement.

The steak selection at Block House is undeniably impressive, offering a variety of cuts that cater to different preferences. The quality of the meat is commendable, delivering a satisfying and flavorful dining experience. From ribeyes to filets, the steaks were cooked to perfection, showcasing the restaurant's commitment to serving top-notch cuts.

On the downside, on the day of my visit, the salad options were a bit lacking. While the steaks take center stage, a more robust selection of salads would enhance the overall dining experience. The existing choices are passable but fall short in comparison to the star of the show – the steaks.

The service at Block House Nuremberg was a bright spot in my visit. The staff was attentive, efficient, and friendly. Orders were taken promptly, and our meals arrived in a timely fashion. The attentive service contributed positively to the overall dining atmosphere.

Speaking of atmosphere, Block House attempts to emulate the ambiance of an American steakhouse. However, it falls short of capturing the authentic feel. The restaurant's setting has some resemblance to a fast-food establishment, which may not align with the expectations one might have for a classic American steakhouse. The waiter who took care of us was very rude. Instead of asking to see if the wine was finished, he took the bottle and shake it. He took the extra serving plate under the plate by pulling the main plate without asking. He either didn't answer our questions about food/wine or just ignored it saying 'it's a good thing'.

He and his behavior were very disturbing and we could not understand the reason for this rudeness. We didn't expect extreme love and sincerity, but the 'oh whatever' attitude made us very nervous. Although we came with a reservation for a long dinner, we were disappointed and unfortunately we left the place right after we ate the food quickly.

Apart from that the meat was not very tasty but garlic bread and boiled potato was fine. The hamburger menu does not look like a hamburger! You get a hamburger patty on a plate, with a slice of garlic bread and some vegetables, and it's not a hamburger.

The place was not very crowded and service speed was average. Unfortunately the service quality...

Ive been to Block House in Berlin multiple times and its been great but our visit to this location was very poor. Our very simple order was messed up so many times! Only one starter came out. My wifes starter never came until we asked our server for it after 20 minutes later. She acted like we put her out and when she brought the starter it was the wrong dish. We then waited another 20 to 25 minutes for our main course. Mine was ok (they did forget the sauce)but again my wifes dish was wrong! The man who brought our main course did take the starter back and removed it for our bill. Our dinner salads came out for dessert. At the end when I was paying the bill I was basically told that tips are not included in the bill! Hint hint!! Needless to say, we wont...
