I went to Provenza for dinner with my friend back in late September 2016. We picked the restaurant because we wished to have Italian food for dinner and wanted to sit somewhere with a view. This restaurant met both of those requirements. We were seated outside on the patio overlooking the Nuremberg market square. The restaurant was not crowded with just two other occupied tables outside and three occupied inside, so we expected to receive relatively quick service, but we were in no hurry. The waitress came over and took our drink order (a Bier and a wine). The waitress came back with our drinks and took our food order. We ordered a large four-piece bruschetta appetizer to split and two pasta dishes for our entrees. We were enjoying our drinks and listening to live music coming from the market square, but after 45 minutes we both realized that we did not have our appetizers yet and the waitress had not come outside to check on us. Something was wrong. My friend went inside to inquire about our food. I was still outside, but I turned around and saw the waitress explaining something to my friend through the glass. Our food was nowhere to be seen. I was annoyed and still hungry, so I grabbed my friend’s purse and went inside – determined to leave and go eat somewhere that could actually deliver food in under 45 minutes. I went inside and the waitress explained “You see, you ordered four pieces of bruschetta. The kitchen only made three, so the chef had to make four more to make the order correct.” It made no sense. She continued “The kitchen is about to start on your pasta orders.” I had reached my boiling point and I said “No, do not bother. We aren’t eating here anymore. Come on; we’re leaving.” The waitress looked shocked as if she didn’t understand why we would be upset as she started to print off the check for our a single wine and beer. “No, you must be crazy. We’re not paying for those. We went 45 minutes without you checking on us and with no appetizer. We’re leaving. Now.” We walked less than two blocks away to another Italian restaurant that was PACKED, yet we received our food within twenty minutes of being seated. Avoid Provenza at all costs if you...
Read moreThe service was horrible, the attention to my pregnant woman was miniscule as I had to ask them three times for water to bring and they did nothing to facilitate the situation. Instead a member of the stuff (waitress) told me that she already heard me since 15 minutes that I asked water!! Imagine that you need urgently water to drink because of swallowing problems! The stuff has to change immediate attitude but then it comes to the management dealing with cases like this. The reviews on Tripadvisor prove the same as also here. I took my pregnant wife(9th month) out, to eat something small and although it looks a nice place inside, they really messed up our whole evening. Although the location and the place seems beautiful and pretty advantageous in the Hauptmarkt, the people operating the business seem not to care a lot, thats why also the rest of their reviews elsewhere. Someone has to tell them that this business is all about service first and at least a smile! Visiting the toilets of a business like this especially in our situation, everything should be clean and proper; but unfortunately also the toilets where smelly and the hourly inspection was not done with the signature for the whole day. I find it bad to put a photo of the non inspected signature paper in the toilet in this review. Never bring your pregnant wife there! It is highly not recommended! There are better places to go...
Read moreOne only needs to look at how disgracefully the owners respond to criticism to support the truth regarding the lack of professionalism and service we faced when we went here. The interior design is quite cool, the view from the restaurant is fair, and the greeter staff were pleasant in seating us. Afterwards, everything went downhill. The waitress came to us and asked us what we wanted. As we started to give in our food order she forced us to order our drinks first. We said alright then, a still water with our chosen pizza and pasta. She looked at us and said "We are not a McDonalds, you need to order more drinks since my boss will not allow me to take your order otherwise". We left without ordering as we wanted to enjoy our evening without putting up with rude service. The fact that the place was quite empty on a Saturday should have warned us that it is not a local favourite and clearly a tourist trap. Probably thought we were tourists and she could get away with saying whatever she liked because we don't look "local". Well, the waitress did a poor job of representing your restaurant and we will never (attempt to) eat here and will not recommend friends or family who visit us to eat here either. At least the so-called "McDonalds" that she tried to insult in Nuremberg still serve us with a smile and don't dictate to us what we as customers should order. A...
