Great location. Passable food. Ok price. Bad service.
They simply do one dish mainly. The sausage. You can order 6.8.10.12 sausage set with a side dish. We got 10 sausages and the pickles for 18 Euros.
Worth noting is the service was bad. We were waiting to be sitted Initially but got constantly ignored by the two girls working out the front so ended up following others, We grabbed a seat our own.
Again ignored and waited for ages till one girl came, but she asked us to move to a smaller table sitting right next to others for as the table We were at were too big for us. We were ok with that and moved to sit with others. She took our order. Right After that i found a couple was sittted where we were and the larger table was divided into two small tables to fit in another couple. Why was that not an option for us? I felt annoyed. It's no myth that Asians are often placed in unwanted tables like next to a kitchen, toilets and away from any potential scenic areas. I guess we are tired of arguing for that. But seeing it happen right infront of me is another story.
I questioned the girl immediately Why is the table unable to accomodate us is able to host those two people. She said the table was reserved for a group of 6 so she asked us to move. Then they got another table available for the 6 so this table is now divided for smaller groups. Fair But not good enough. How do i know if she was telling the truth or simply just trying to find an excuse. The table didn't have a 'reserved' sign on it anyway. That's purely at her discretion. Anyway Nothing too special to recommend. If You are asian Then be...
Read moreThe good: The place is located on downtown really in the heart of Nürnberg. The restaurant has a really charming look because it has remain with its old traditional building surrounded by higher buildings. The place has also a really chill bier garden. They have sausages and sauerkraut from a local butcher, both things are really nice, I can give them credit to that though because the ose are not made by the restaurant. Their potato salad was also ok, nothing spectacular but ok. Their beer is good, but honestly, beer is this amount of food in all the German restaurants in Bavaria.
The not so good: I appreciate small menus, means that the restaurant knows its forte but this was not the case there. Their Schäufele (pork shoulder) was not cooked properly and the fat crust was not completely melted, which is a main factor in this dish, the Klösse (potato ball), was a bit too hard but ok. The sauce was honestly the worse part because it was watery and with a powder sauce flavor, which is really not acceptable because of their specialized menu which have just a couple of dishes due to the fact that is one of the o la maybe 5 dishes. The dishes took forever in arriving, even with the small menu. The service was not attentive, some of them even just simply ignored us or talk to us in a quite rude way.
Also something that could improve is that they dispatch orders of sausages in bread inside the restaurant which is really small inside, so it becomes really chaotic depending were you are sitting, I don’t understand why to do it that way if they have a big...
Read moreA Truly Disappointing Experience at Bratwursthäusle My visit to Bratwursthäusle on July 20th was, unfortunately, one of the most unpleasant dining experiences I've had. While hoping for a traditional and enjoyable meal in Nuremberg, I encountered utterly unacceptable behavior from a staff member.
The incident began when I briefly stepped inside from the terrace. A waitress started shouting at me in German. Despite my attempts to explain in English that I didn't understand, she continued her aggressive and loud tirade, nearly bumping into me. Her behavior was incredibly rude and also dismissive. It's truly shocking to be treated with such disrespect, especially as a customer and simply as another human being.
This incident is not merely about a language barrier; it's about a lack of basic human decency and professional conduct. No one should be subjected to such aggressive and demeaning treatment, particularly in a hospitality setting.
And if being shouted at angrily isn't enough to deter you, then perhaps the food will: the sausages were remarkably underwhelming, tasting no better than ones you could easily purchase from a supermarket and fry at home.
In summary, if you don't mind being verbally abused for mediocre food, then perhaps Bratwursthäusle is for you. Otherwise, I strongly advise you to stay away. This establishment falls far short of the welcoming and quality experience one expects in a historic city...
