Cloud One Wine Bar & Lounge — Restaurant in Nuremberg

The racial profiling and outright racism I have experienced at this establishment has left me speechless. On two separate occasions I was denied entry into the Cloud Bar. We were told that the hotel policy did not allow guests to access the rooftop location, and thereafter we were told it was full. Despite both of these not being true as was confirmed by the guests that we spoke to in front of the receptionists who made the claim. Today the receptionist went to the extent of stating "we don't have space for people like you" and there were multiple witnesses to this. This is unfortunate as I have spent money at this establishment and religiously tipped waiters above 10% for their service. However, clearly the colour of your skin is a far more important determinant. We stayed there one night. Hotel spotless and staff great. Great location immediately adjacent to train station and easy walking distance to old town. The room itself was ridiculously small. 2 people and 2 suitcases and we literally had to climb over each other to move from one side of the room to another. I could put up with it for 1 night, but would have lost my mind if I had to stay another night. Breakfast very expensive but PLENTY of food options at train...

Die Bar mit der schönsten Aussicht Nürnbergs? Mag sein - nur kann ich das leider nicht beurteilen, da wir es als Nicht-Gäste des Hotels auch bei unserem heutigen dritten Anlauf innerhalb mehrerer Wochen nicht nach oben geschafft haben.

Ganz ehrlich: Ich habe an sich durchaus Verständnis dafür, wenn sich eine Hotelbar primär auf die Gäste des Hauses konzentrieren möchte. Keinerlei Verständnis habe ich allerdings, wenn eine Bar, die als öffentlich zugänglich beworben wird, absolut keine Möglichkeit einer Reservierung für externe Gäste bietet, sondern man am Telefon lediglich die Auskunft bekommt, man solle es doch "einfach mal probieren".

Nein. Beim besten Willen nicht. "Einfach mal probieren" mag ein Konzept sein, das beim Berghain in Berlin irgendwie akzeptabel ist, aber wenn ich Lust auf eine stylishe Bar habe, dann möchte ich die Möglichkeit haben, einen Platz zu reservieren und nicht gezwungen sein, dort auf gut Glück vorstellig zu werden und gleichzeitig einen Plan B in der Hinterhand zu haben - für den häufigen Fall dass externe Gäste keinen Zutritt erhalten.

Anderen Rezensionen entnehme ich, dass einige Menschen es so oft probiert haben, bis sie irgendwann tatsächlich mal eingelassen wurden. Ich bewundere die Menge an Geduld, die hierfür nötig gewesen sein muss. Ich habe diese Geduld allerdings nicht, weswegen das heute unser letzter...
