It's a very cozy little place near located just beneath the old city wall, with the train station just across the road. A very wide selection of wines as well as a Franconian wine tasting deal (15€ for 6 glasses, I think). As one can expect the majority of food they serve is local dishes, such as the Schäufele and Nürnberg sausages. We ordered the Nürnberg Wurstteller which is a bit of everything. I always like the small sausages but the Blaue Zipfer is a very nice surprise (the white one in the sauce). I would definitely try the apple fritters had I had the time. Service is quick and the staff are very friendly. They take both cash and card.

I had to kill off some time due to a delayed bus so I just had to find a place to eat near the station, randomly chose this one since it was freer and can't say I regret doing so even though it's rating is not the highest. The beer is just great and reasonably priced while the atmosphere is simply adorable, I loved that terrace next to the wooden house, so quaint. Can't judge the overall quality of food since I've only had the traditional Schauferle, but that was excellent, tender meat and crispy skin, perfect sauce and delicious sauerkraut, that is a traditional Franconian dish that went down really well. Glad to have found this place

Traveling vegan Americans here… we passed this place while exploring Nürnberg and decided we should come back for dinner. We loved the atmosphere and they had an English menu which showed one vegan (and a couple of vegetarian) options. We sat outdoors, which is fine and not too cold yet (it’s October 5th). Drinks and food are delivered quickly. Our vegan sausages were delicious and hot; however, the potatoes were cold and didn’t have much flavor. Note: we think the potatoes are simple boiled with some salt. We had a good experience here and were happy to find a place with vegan options!

I wish that I could give this place 0 stars. The server we dealt with today was extremely rude and disrespectful to us from the moment we sat down for no apparent reason. To start, me and my partner always make sure to learn a bit of the local language out of respect. We began the conversation with her at our table by saying (in german) Sorry, we can not speak german, can you speak english? She then decided she would not speak to us at all and used her finger to stab at the english menu and wait for us to say our order (though she clearly spoke english well to other guests she deemed worthy as we heard with the table next to us). Me and my partner both ordered larger dishes, which I would have thought made us valued customers but since we did not choose to consume alcohol or drinks apparently we were not worth her time at all. She never once came to our table again to ask us how our meal was or if we wanted anything else, which we had originally planned to stay for tea after our meal. After being ignored for an extremely long time, waving kindly to try and get her attention and having to ask for the bill twice she finally shouted at us from the door ‘cash or card’. I replied card, just as I had seen the table next to us do except for them she came out with the machine to perform the transaction. For us, she simply said you come and walked inside. When paying, she decided to mention the amount being put into the machine didn’t include a tip. I have never received such rude and poor service before anywhere and told her I did not wish to tip. She started laughing in my face, asked me “Really, no tip?” and then began speaking German to her coworker, clearly speaking poorly about me while I stood there waiting to pay. She then proceeded to make a rude comment about how I had taken a sip from my re-usable water bottle at the table and that was not ok. I only did this after being ignored for 30 minutes straight and unable to order a drink and as a human right thought I might allow myself to drink a simple sip of water. I honestly wish that I could have taken the time to complain about this horrible woman to management but once my payment went through she blocked the way in and told me to get out. We truly never gave this woman any reason to treat us with such disrespect and I am shocked this person still has a job dealing with the public. Disgusting. Also, the food is pretty basic and bland and over priced. This is a tourist trap run by tourist hating people. Please just go somewhere else if you read this and want an enjoyable experience...

The most disappointing service I have ever witnessed. A waiter rudely asked us to leave the place because, apparently, we did not order enough for the number of people that we were. 2 out of 5 ordered drinks, the others planned to do so later. The place was not even crowded, half of the tables were empty. Mind you, it was a corporate event for us and most of the people were internationals. I believe the waiter assumed we did not speak German (which is false) as he was incredibly impolite to us and literally started taking everything away from the table as soon as he heard the order. There were no signs that could imply that there was a “minimum” amount for the order. And even if there was, there is definitely a nicer way to ask people to leave and explain the reasoning. My colleagues and I are shook that someone with such an attitude could work in a service sector. I hope that the management of this restaurant pays close attention to how their employees treat their clients. Definitely do not recommend if you don’t want your day...

Sadly, rude service for tourists. Asked us AFTER we ordered drinks if cash was ok. We said pay by card please, was then told it’s only cash for orders under €20. Our order for 2 drinks was €10.8. We said that’s ok we will pay €20 on card and get another beer later. I went to collect the second drink and was told no, you paid €20 for two drinks. I said we didn’t pay €20 for a beer and coke, we said we’d get another beer later to make the card minimum (the three drinks we ordered were still less than €20 and only totalled €15.7 - so they were still getting more for the drinks we had). She then rolled her eyes and told me we should have had cash, as there was a sign - that was facing another direction and not in direct line of sight. If we had have been told this before we ordered we...
