I ordered Kadhai Chicken here, but it was a very disappointing experience. Before placing my order, I specifically asked the waiter to recommend a proper Indian-style curry, not a European adaptation. He suggested the Kadhai Chicken, and I also reminded him not to add too much cream, since I know many Indian restaurants in Europe tend to do that.
Unfortunately, what I received was full of cream and looked more like a butter chicken than a Kadhai Chicken. It seems they don’t really know what authentic Kadhai Chicken is. I can understand adjusting spice levels for European tastes, but changing the entire flavour and cooking style is not authentic Indian food.
As someone from India, I was genuinely hoping for a proper, traditional curry. In the UK, Indian restaurants manage to serve food close to the real thing sometimes even better so it’s definitely possible. My point is simple: if the dish is heavily adapted, it should be called “European style Kadhai Chicken,” not presented as authentic Indian food.
Roti, naan, paratha, and dal tasted fine, but the curries were disappointing. It feels like customers here are not experiencing real Indian food, which is a shame. Very very disappointed with food. I really didn't expected like...
Read moreIt's super expensive, staff doesn't pay attention if you're indians and trust me they won't offer you tap water even if you're thirsty and ready to pay specifically for tap water. Worse hospitality and they only look forward to your money, forget the taste and service if you're planning to visit the restaurant.
(Edit: with a response to what restaurant has replied) This is a clear case of bullying by the restaurant where they don't want their customers to raise their voice on worse service. I am attaching the snapshot of the bank message I received after paying the bill.
(Edit: with a second response after restaurant deleted their first reply denying my visit to their restaurant) The staff of your restaurant were rude the entire time, and where with others they were in a welcome mood. I said I will pay for the tap water as I don't like the brand of the bottled water you were serving. After our dinner we waited around 10 minutes for the staff to arrive at our table to check, when I waived my hand to him. I hope others specially Indians if you see the post, do check the prices and restaurant blaming the customer to find it expensive. And lastly if you want to be humiliated please visit...
Read moreWe decided to dine for Indian cuisine recently on 22nd Nov’’18 for dinner at Nuremberg’s Sangam restaurant. We had such an amazing delightful experience with superb quality of food, as good as homemade ( garlic naan, lamb curry, rice pulao, dal tadka, pappaddum, and 2 rounds of chai.. but above all I would like to specially mention the outstanding & exceptional service by Mr Raja and other wait staff who served us food. They all went out of their way to make us feel special and were very well looked after. Mr Raja recommended the lamb dish and discouraged us from over ordering dishes ..In all our travel around different cities and continents, I have always been disappointed with lack of good service and /or quality of food at Indian restaurants. Sangam restaurant stands out to me in that it treats each customer, even Indians, with the same exceptional quality of service besides serving great food & creating a very memorable dining experience. Please stop by at Sangam restaurant if you are visiting Nuremberg and craving for Indian food and I definitely hope you get Mr Raja to serve you., you will not be...
