RAMENCADO Nürnberg — Restaurant in Nuremberg

The staff is quite busy, the tables tiny, the functional arrangement of furniture very narrow. So far accaptable for typical Japanese fast food. The empoyees are neither German nor Japanese. Inpolite behavior seems rude somehow, may be due tu cultural aspects, but also they give the impression not having absolved a training in gastronomy. No sign of reservation on the table, as a single person they would tell You the table is reservated in 15 minutes without proposing a solution or offer. My proposal was to eat fast, which led the waiter to give his agreement and affront that he expects no complain after. After 2 minutes another young lady came to my table to offer that another non reserved table over there would be vacant. Set down to another tiny table, the lady said she did not mean this table, I changed the place another time. Ramen was there after 2 additional minutes. The add in the soup tasted good, ramen itself mediocre, the broth was not hot (not like in Japan), taste delicious, subjectively not enough salty, no soy sauce or salt on the table. After another waitress (the third who served me) has asked me how I'd like to pay, cash or by card, she led me sit 7 minutes. I did like to leave, took over the jacked and asked directely a little bit cynically, while standing at the cashdesk, if a payment would still be possible the same day. I really enjoyed my vegi ramen with light miso here, customized without corn. Nicely chewy noodles, good broth and everything together with the toppings made great sense, very satisfying bowl of ramen. All wait staff were super friendly and attentive. Good value too and popular, so a reservation is recommended especially during classic meal times and weekends. Menu is available online, it's also easy to make a reservation online.

Update in October 2024: after the first great visit I went back, came out pretty disappointed. The ramen was meh, noodles toppings and especially the broth which tasted quite flat, despite it being the special ginger lemongrass etc flavor. Also if you charge extra when choosing a specific broth option under the same menu item, please specify upon ordering. I ended up paying 18 Euro for a mediocre ramen (see above, broth) and that left a bad aftertaste (no pun intended), felt about 50% too expensive. Plus, service acted a bit weird from the start, initially insisting on the 1.5h slot when I came in earlier than my friend - it was 5.15pm on a Sunday and the restaurant was neither very busy when we came nor...

Food: 5 stars- We try fish ramen and spocy special ramen and they are was great ! I eat a lot of ramen in a lot of cities and countries , and this place is what you must have to try anyway. Trust me !

Service: 4 stars- waiter forgot to bring me a beer , but actually after so great food you don’t need anything. So it ok.

Place: 5 stars- like usual street food restaurant, open kitchen( if you sit outside, it’s a great possibility to have a look who and how chefs create a masterpieces 👌🏻)

Prices: 5 stars- middle price for that big portion !
