Ishihara — Restaurant in Nuremberg

Expensive, unimpressive and very poor service. We traveled 4 hours for a special birthday meal, including some cool Japanese Teppanyaki/ Hibachi tricks and fun. we were shocked that a duck breast with a portion of rice cost 40€ (with a few bean shoots). The chef told us that he could do nothing other than just cook the duck, no tricks, no fun, and no onion volcano (made the 40€ a total rip off) waited and waited for a second beer, which I repeatedly asked for.. This did not come until I had to get up and find someone... They truly did not seem to care. Also the walls were dirty and looked like they had not been painted in a while. We then decided to order some shrimp, but were told that ONE portion of shrimp would cost around 30€, and they seemed annoyed that we might want something else..We...

Perfect experience for everyone willing to spend for a trip to a different culture while staying in Nuremberg. I haven't been to Japan yet, bit this appeared and friends confirmed this to be absolutely authentic Japanese.

Your food is prepared and grilled at your table by the chefs and you'll surely enjoy one of their 4-5 course menu offerings that cost between 38 - 64 EUR.

Only downside is the smell of fried fat in your clothing afterwards. After all you spent all evening in the Chef's kitchen...

I loved the first starter courses as they came with incredibly tasty mushrooms. Not being a huge tofu fan the main dish wasn't my favorite, but my omnivore friends...

Wir waren kürzlich in diesem japanischen Restaurant essen – das Ambiente ist wirklich gelungen, man fühlt sich optisch tatsächlich wie in Japan. Der Empfang war herzlich und der Service zu Beginn sehr aufmerksam, was ich positiv hervorheben möchte.

Leider konnte das Essen mit dem ersten Eindruck nicht mithalten. Das Wagyu kam aus Australien – nach meiner Erfahrung in Tokyo war das geschmacklich leider kein Vergleich. Auch das Sushi war zwar frisch, aber insgesamt eher durchschnittlich. Das Veggie-Menü meiner Frau war nicht nur sehr überschaubar, sondern auch geschmacklich enttäuschend – und sättigend war es leider auch nicht.

Besonders schade war das Dessert: Bei einer Rechnung von über 100 € erwartet man einfach etwas anderes, etwas Besonderes. Insgesamt war das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis für uns absolut nicht stimmig. Ich habe bereits in deutlich größeren Städten wesentlich besser japanisch gegessen.

Ein weiterer Punkt: Die Sitzordnung. Es wäre schön, wenn man nicht direkt nebeneinander sitzen müsste – vor allem, wenn es laut wird. Ein ruhiges, entspanntes Essen war dadurch kaum möglich.
