Restaurant MINNECI — Restaurant in Nuremberg

People please, this is not an Italian restaurant! The owner speaks Italian but that is all. Wine selection is really not that good and the markup on wine is too much. Basically you pay 45 euros for a 10 euro bottle of wine. The Italian Liquors list is practically non-existent. They have a couple of Grappas, Averna, Ramazzotti and Fernet Branca. I found more selection at German restaurants. The food is trying to be Italian and "modern cuisine" but fails at both. It's not all bad but maybe a little too pretentious. The quality of the end product doesn't match the price. We initially ordered only the appetizer and second course, but the owner insisted on squeezing in a first course and a dessert so that he could charge full set menu price. The service was courteous but not too responsive, I had to ask for things repeatedly. The building is historical and very interesting, but I didn't get to enjoy much of it because my table reservation was forgotten. I ended up sitting with my date outside. The outside area could be quaint if it wasn't for some horrible club music coming from a nearby bar which dominated the entire area. I tipped well for the effort, more as a farewell than a will see you again....

We had a table downstairs and we were pretty much easy going group of guests, not behaved really picky but (because of this friendly approch maybe) we had to pay 1,700 euro for a group of 7 people which is ridiculous for a restaurant in Nuremberg. We got 6 course of menu and 2 bottles of wine. Food quality was average not special (espeicfor this price). Food might be 3 stars if price would be one third what you pay. I am not feeling happy to mention it but one service person had heavy smell of sweat which disturbs you so much during the service. We have been served in the basement of restaurant which was really not a great ambience. Really not worth for the price we paid. Definitely overpriced restaurant, besides bot located in a great spot. For sure not will visit them again. You can try Michelin star upscale restaurants in other European cities at much...

Essen super, Service leider sehr sehr mangelhaft!

Durch Zufall bin ich Abends in dieses Italienische Lokal geraten. Ich bekam trotz vollem Lokals noch einen Bistrotisch am Eingang (was auch völlig OK ist, ohne Voranmeldung und alleine). Dort gibt es drei Bistrotische, 2 waren schon besetzt.

Die Bedienung war Anfangs auch sehr zuvorkommend. Ich bestellte eine Suppe und einen Hauptgang aus den zwei Angebotenen Menuevorschlägen (Preis ca.:10 und 25 EUR) und einen korrespondierenden Rotwein (hier kam keine Nachfrage vom Kellner, was das betrifft - ich bekam einen Rotwein, der sehr gut war, aber das Kommentarlos!).

Der Gruß aus der Küche war ein Gorgonzola-Espuma mit gerösteten Zwiebeln und vermutlich einer süßen Tomatensoße - leider wurde mir das nur als "Gorgonzolaschaum" auf den Tisch gestellt. War aber ganz gut.

Dazu wurde mir ganz gutes Brot (zweirlei Sorten) mit einer hausgemachten Kräuterbutter gereicht. Das kam ebenfalls kommentarlos.

Dann hatte ich eine Parmesansuppe mit Tomateneinlage und Crostini Beilage. Die Suppe war super, wenn auch etwas zu salzig. Das Crostini war für den Standard nicht tauglich in Öl getränkt (beim blossen Hochnehmen hatte ich schon einen Öltropfen auf der Tischdecke). Trotzdem ein sehr hohes Küchenniveau.

Der Hauptgang war geschmorte Kalbshaxe auf Polenta, dazu Safranfenchel und Tomatengemüse. Das war einfach toll von der Kombination und der Küchentechnik. Bei den Tomaten sollte man halt etwas aromatischeres nehmen, aber der Rest des Gerichts hat es aufgehoben.

Ich war nach dem Hauptgang begeistert und freute mich auf das dessert!

Ja..... mein Nachbartisch wurde gefragt ob noch ein Espresso und die Desserkarte gewünscht wird. Kommentarlos gab es dort zwei Pralinen zur restlichen Wartezeit.

..... Ich jedoch wartete...... und wartete...... und wartete........ (ca. eine Stunde) und wurde (obwohl auch mein Tisch längst abgeräumt war) vergeblich auf die Frage nach einem Espresso und der Desserkarte (andere Tische erhiehlten in der Zeit 3 Gänge).

Nachdem ich mich dann von mir aus um die Rechnung kümmerte (war eine Stunde ohne Getränke oder Kellnerkontakt dort und Tische neben mir längst leer) kam sie dann auch, ohne Entschuldigung und auch keine Pralinen oder sowas (wobei mein Nachbartisch nur einen Gang hatte und ich zwei)

Fazit: Essen wirklich super (Sterneniveau), Service schrecklich! Daher nur 3 Sterne von 5. Wenn ich schon 50EUR für Suppe+Hauptgericht+0,1l Wein+Wasser ausgebe, erwarte ich auch exzellenten Service!

Schade! Denn die Küche ist echt auf...
