Café Seerose - Potsdam — Restaurant in Potsdam

The actual place I like (although it is a bit daft how the kids play area is out of sight of the parents).

My big problem here is the food and the price.

We ordered a burger - now this costs €8 and you just get a burger - that is it - nothing else - just a burger. This a place that states "Best burgers in Potsdam"

Now, for €8 it had better be a damn good burger - it wasn't, in fact I would go as far to say the worst burger I have eaten. It was completely flavourless, the meat was not seasoned at all. The "special sauce" quite honestly was disgusting - the only thing special about it was the "chef" (I use that term loosely) decided the burger needed mountains of sauce (probably to hide how bad the burger is).

Now - we have a son (3 in October) and they did not really have much choice for him (kids menu is not available) so we had no choice but to order milk rice (Milch Reis) - the key here is this dish is milk and rice - one of the cheapest things to make - their price - €6!!!! Seriously - €6. I ask who they think they are!?

I do like sitting by the lake (see) - that is nice - but food wise - we paid €32 for two burgers, milk rice, a bowl of (cold) fries and two 330ml radlers. Do I feel that price reflects value for money? Not by a long way - not by a long long long way.

Sadly this is a place that clearly thinks because the lake view is nice they can charge what they like for sub standard tasteless food.

Go for a drink - want a burger try Waikiki in potsdam - it won't blow you away but the price is fair and the burgers are tasty - I hear Craddocks is also pretty good.

Or - make you're own burger - its so easy people! for €8...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Seerose in Potsdam, and it was an outstanding experience. The restaurant's ambience is truly wonderful, with its prime location right in front of the lake. We had the chance to enjoy our dinner while watching the sunset, which added a magical touch to our evening. The service was impeccable, with attentive and friendly staff who made sure we had everything we needed. The food was delicious, particularly the antipasti for two people. The shrimps were really well done and absolutely delicious. I also tried the pork sirloin. While it was slightly overdone and a bit dry, it was still enjoyable and didn't detract significantly from the overall meal. Now for the english speaking people: we waited 1:30 h for our food and drinks. For their sake the food was very delicious. The waiter forgot about us everytime he walked by. The prices compared to the food and drinks are not acceptable. Too expensive and the Cocktails were not well mixed. First we waited 20 mins to get the bill and then another 20 mins to actually pay. Its a tourist-trap. Im not recommending this restaurant. There are lots of restaurants that will serve you better. In germany we would way „Vallah Bruder hat nicht...
