A Disappointing Dining Disaster at Chi Keng

My recent visit to Chi Keng was an utter disappointment and left a sour taste in my mouth, and it wasn’t just from the food. While the dishes served were passable, the real problem arose at the time of payment. We requested separate bills, a fairly standard practice, but this seemingly simple request threw the staff into a state of confusion and irritation. The atmosphere quickly shifted as what appeared to be the manager began to split our bill with visible frustration and anger.

The entire process was uncomfortable and unnecessarily tense. It felt as if we were imposing on the staff by asking them to accommodate a basic customer service request. This not only dampened our spirits but completely overshadowed the entire dining experience.

To add insult to injury, upon reviewing my bill, I discovered that I was overcharged by 8 euros. This blatant oversight—or perhaps intentional overcharge—was the final nail in the coffin for my patronage at Chi Keng.

I am appalled by the lack of professionalism and courtesy displayed by the management. It’s clear that customer satisfaction is not a priority at this establishment. I would strongly advise against visiting Chi Keng. There are plenty of other restaurants where your business and requests will be treated with respect and grace. Save your money and your evening by dining elsewhere.

Eine enttäuschende Essenskatastrophe bei Chi Keng

Mein kürzlicher Besuch im Restaurant Chi Keng war eine absolute Enttäuschung und hinterließ einen bitteren Nachgeschmack, der nicht nur vom Essen herrührte. Obwohl die servierten Gerichte gerade noch akzeptabel waren, trat das eigentliche Problem beim Bezahlen auf. Wir baten um getrennte Rechnungen, was eigentlich eine ganz normale Praxis ist, doch diese scheinbar einfache Anfrage versetzte das Personal in einen Zustand der Verwirrung und Verärgerung. Die Atmosphäre kippte schnell, als die Person, die wie die Managerin aussah, unsere Rechnung mit sichtbarem Frust und Ärger aufteilte.

Der gesamte Vorgang war unangenehm und unnötig angespannt. Es fühlte sich so an, als ob wir dem Personal zur Last fielen, indem wir sie baten, eine grundlegende Kundendienstanforderung zu erfüllen. Dies trübte nicht nur unsere Stimmung, sondern überschattete das gesamte Essenserlebnis.

Zu allem Überfluss stellte ich beim Überprüfen meiner Rechnung fest, dass ich um 8 Euro zu viel berechnet wurde. Dieser offensichtliche Fehler – oder vielleicht absichtliche Mehrberechnung – war der endgültige Grund dafür, dass ich Chi Keng nicht mehr besuchen werde.

Ich bin entsetzt über den Mangel an Professionalität und Höflichkeit, der vom Management gezeigt wurde. Es ist offensichtlich, dass die Zufriedenheit der Kunden in diesem Etablissement keine Priorität hat. Ich rate dringend davon ab, Chi Keng zu besuchen. Es gibt viele andere Restaurants, in denen Ihre Anliegen und Wünsche mit Respekt und Anmut behandelt werden. Sparen Sie Ihr Geld und Ihren Abend, indem Sie woanders...

The little sister of the My Keng is located right at the Luisenplatz with a nice and calm, but mostly very packed terrace. The food is of good quality and the portions are always quite big, which also is mirrored in the prices, that are definitely higher than the average in Potsdam. During the last years I have seen the prices steadily increasing, which prevented me from going there on a regular base like I did in the past. Paying suddenly 7€+ for a glass of wine, compared to 3 or 4€ for instance is a bit sad. Same price increase was applied to most of the dishes. The staff though is usually quite attentive and food always comes quick. Fortunately they're also flexible for vegan and vegetarian people, but in general there isn't too much choice for this dietary...

I'll start with the positive things, The food is very tasty, the sushi is one of the best in town (maybe even in berlin). The dishes are big enough so you should think twice before having a lot of starters and so on... Nice place to sit at , you can sit inside or outside.. For the "bad" think I should say 2 things: The crew doesn't know English well. The dishes and the beverage are extremely expensive! Bottle of 1 liter still water is 7.5 euro!!! In the bottom line and from the quality of the food I will...
