Matador — Restaurant in Potsdam

In a group of 5 people, we ordered 5 different dishes—burger, tapas, salad, pizza, and steak. Unfortunately, none of them were delicious. On top of that, they were poorly cooked and carelessly prepared. At first glance, the restaurant gives the impression of being Spanish, but they hardly serve any Spanish food. The tapas (5 Boiled baby potatoes, olives, garlic mayo, cheese, 2 mushrooms filled with something, and two small dips (not sure what they were) for 24 euros ) were one of the few Spanish items on the menu, and even those were done in the worst possible way. The non-vegetarian tapas were only different from the vegetarian ones because two mushrooms were served with a small piece of chorizo.

The pizza tasted more like a super salty frozen pizza than something freshly made. The burger patty was filled with unpleasant, chewy bits of meat (inedible part of meat) , and it was overloaded with bread and lacked quality overall.

Schrecklicher Service! Wir wurden erst eine geraume Zeit nicht beachtet, dass wir schon gehen wollten, BEVOR wir überhaupt bestellen konnten. Als endlich die Kellnerin kam, wirkte diese extrem fertig und gehetzt. Unsere Bestellung wurde aufgenommen, jedoch leider fehlerhaft. Die Bruschetta waren lecker, die Suppe leider kalt. Nachdem ich dies ansprach, bekam ich aber eine neue. Dafür musste ich aber eigenständig nach einer Servicekraft suchen, da wir mal wieder ignoriert wurden. Der zweite Gang kam ohne Pause direkt danach. Die Steaks waren zwar saftig und schmackhaft, jedoch nicht Medium wie bestellt. Wir gaben nun auf, eine Servicekraft zu finden. Als meine Eltern mit dem Essen fertig waren, aß ich noch an meinen Tapas. Ohne zu fragen wurden die Teller ausgehoben, selbst welche von meinen Tapas! Ohne eine Frage, ob jemand noch etwas trinken möchte, es geschmeckt hat, etc. Generell war ein Lächeln im Service schon zu viel verlangt. Als ich mein Essen beendet hatte und wir endlich unsere Kellnerin wiedersahen, erklärte ich ihr ihren Unmut. Es kam zwar eine Entschuldigung, aber kein Entgegenkommen. Am Ende wollte ich die Rechnung auch dafür musste ich so lange warten. Es kam das Buch aber erneut ließ sich keiner blicken, um es abzuholen. Alles in allem: unglaublich schlechter Service! Das Essen war gut, mehr aber nicht. Die arme Junge Frau hatte ihren ersten Tag stellte sich heraus. Ihr eigenes Team half ihr kaum bis gar nicht, gab ihr sogar schuld und konnte es selbst nicht ausgleichen!...

Everything is way above average but a bit short on being excellent. Don't get me wrong, everything we tasted (3 different meats, tapas plate, desserts) was really nice. Tasty. Not fireworks on your tongue but decent, tasty food. Since it has one of the best locations in Potsdam, i must warn you if you come on the weekend and in good weather, sitting outside may be a bit noisy. But middays, just pleasure.
