The Ice Café · At the Brandenburg Gate — Restaurant in Potsdam

An extreme cute and typical Eis-Cafe in Germany. There was sun after 2 months and of course everyone was visiting the ice-cafes today, which are a rarely discussed but important culture of German gastronomy culture. Of course, my typical choose was Spagetti ice, and the other traditional Lemon-Cake were really tasty and with good portions. Coffees are also amazing and they have vegan milk offers as well. The atmosphere makes you feel like you are living just next to the palace in old times, the decoration is very cute. Just, as it was saturday afternoon, the toilet floors were wet and dirty, but still better than berlin standards. A little bit pricy but considering the venue and service, it totally makes sense. We went there after a long walk, the table inside was dirty and sticky the waitress realized and did nothing only after our neighbor table complained about the same. He then cleaned in a bad mood with a soft cloth which smelled very unpleasant.

I asked for a coffee cafe late and was surprised that three quarters of the glass was only hot milk’s foam...

The cakes were ok but the whole experience was not nice and I would not recommend it. Since it has a great location people tend to go regardless of...

Positiv: Top Lage, direkt am Brandenburger Tor mit vielen Sitzplätzen und Tischen im Außenbereich. Negativ: Das schlechteste Eis, welches wir (Paar Ü50) jemals gegessen haben. Wir haben einen Stracciatella-Eisbecher und ein Spaghettieis mit Erdbeeren bestellt. Das Stracciatella-Eis hat meiner Partnerin überhaupt nicht geschmeckt. Es war vollkommen geschmacklos. Und meine Partnerin ist "Expertin"😉 für diese Eissorte, sie hat schon hunderte davon weltweit gegessen. Jetzt zu meinem Spaghettieis. Lieblos auf einen weißen Suppenteller(?) geklatscht und mit Erdbeerstücken überschüttet, war das Auge, welches bekanntlich mit isst, schon mal nicht begeistert. Dann der Geschmack. Es waren zwar massig schwarze Punkte im Eis zu sehen, was den Einsatz von Vanille vermuten lässt. Der fade, wässrige Geschmack konnte die Optik jedoch nicht bestätigen. Das war wirklich das schlechteste Spaghettieis, welches ich jemals gegessen habe.🤢 Und zur Krönung wurden wir von einer Frau mittleren Alters (blond gefärbt, tätowiert) bedient, für die Freundlichkeit wohl nicht zu ihrem Job gehört.
