Cosi — Restaurant in Regensburg

We went here for dinner during one of the opening events and were quite disappointed.

As a starter we ordered Sarde in Saòr and the pasticcio. The fish dish was not too bad while the lasagna was tasteless. The ragù was unseasoned and the overarching taste was béchamel.

As a main course we got peposo and the risotto di mare. The beef was tender and quite well cooked, the sauce was overly salty and tasted as if there was plenty help from pre-made ingredients involved, lastly the polenta was dry and tasteless unfit for a tuscan dish like this. The risotto left us baffled. It is incredible to have the nerve serving what tasted to us like pre-cooked rice (not oozy and creamy as it should be, but slurry on the outside while hard on the inside) with mixed freezer seafood.

The desert with the menu is a torta della nonna, a tuscan lemon flavoured cake with pine seeds, two of which flavours were missing completely. Instead it was a vanilla pudding style cake accompanied by a piece of caramelised fig (which we’d expected to be hot) and a ball of lemon sorbet.

Even though this was a special event we weren’t approached or even asked how we enjoyed the meal. After returning more than one barely touched plate a waitress carefully asked if we weren’t that happy and offered one of the free drinks included in the menu.

On the note of the restaurants vibe, the tables are covered in paper tablecloths, plastic flowers are draped on the wall, the interior is cold and rather anonymous due to which the atmosphere and acoustic is more of a storage facility than a cozy Italian restaurant they’d like to become. We’d love to see the slightly more “special” dishes which aren’t usually served in German-Italian restaurants to be done right and really tried to love this place, but it did not fulfill our...

I really enjoyed our time at Cosi! The staff was super friendly and very attentive, and most importantly, the food was just great! I love the unique concept of 'cucina della nonna' (grandma's kitchen) that offers only a few, but delicious dishes just like in Italy, right out of grandma’s kitchen. You pay a fixed price and everything is included. The atmosphere perfectly fits the concept and reflects the idea of serving homemade, tasty food in a genuine Italian ambiance.

I had the sardines as a starter followed by risotto with seafood as the main course and the legendary torta della nonna for dessert; what can I say, everything tasted extremely delicious! Not to forget the homemade bread and the olive oil, both are so yummy!

If you're looking for a posh, luxury Italian restaurant, you're definitely in the wrong place. If you're looking for authentic, tasty Italian cuisine, I can highly recommend this place.

To me, it was like visiting a little Italian village in Tuscany, celebrating together in their loud, vibrant backyard, you can feel the life here and become quickly part of a big family! Will definitely...

Wir haben unsere Silberhochzeit mit 70 Gästen im Così gefeiert und ich kann mir keine bessere Location dafür vorstellen. Die Absprachen und Planung im Vorfeld haben riesig Spaß gemacht, weil die Menüvorschläge genau unseren Vorstellungen einer rein vegetarischen Speisenfolge mit ausgefallenen, pfiffigen italienischen Gerichten entsprachen. Die Kommunikation mit den Geschäftsführern Jannis und Valerio war herausragend und 100% verlässlich: immer, wirklich immer wurden unsere Anrufe, Emails und die unserer Gäste super freundlich und verbindlich beantwortet. Die Verlässlichkeit in den Absprachen war herausragend. Aber dann kam der Festabend, der unsere eh‘ schon entspannten und maximal vorfreudigen Erwartungen nochmal übertroffen hat: das Essen war unbeschreiblich lecker. Auch heute noch, wenn wir unsere Gäste treffen, geraten sie sofort ins Schwärmen von dem unübertroffen leckeren, feinen italienischen Festessen im Così und der tollen Atmosphäre in diesem kultigen, gemütlichen, originellen Restaurant-Raum. Wir als Gastgeber konnten uns völlig unserer Feier und unseren Gästen widmen, weil das Personal vom Così uns 100% den Rücken frei gehalten hat, uns und unsere Gäste mit einer liebenswürdigen Freundlichkeit rundum versorgt und verwöhnt hat, sodass wir und unsere Gäste einen wirklich unbeschreiblichen Abend genießen durften. Das Così hat unsere Feier bzgl. der Leistungen höchst professionell durchgeführt, aber die Freundlichkeit in jedem Moment dieses Abends, in der Planungsphase davor und in den Kontakten danach, die geht über den Begriff professionell weit hinaus. Kurz: unsere Silberhochzeitsfeier im Così war ein Traum. Ich kann das Così wirklich jedem als Location für eine große Feier nur wärmstens empfehlen.
