Me and a group of friends were searching for an Asian restaurant, and while googling a bit for Asian food (especially some Japanese food) in Regensburg, we found this one. It is pretty new, only opened in November 17, so we decided to check it out. And it was a pretty good experience, at first we were overwhelmed by the menu, which offered a lot of things. We ordered some Maki (with avocado, salmon, etc.) and also Yakitori , and that tasted pretty good. They also have their "home-made" soya sauce (with extra sweetness, not my cup of tea though). The interior is pretty well built and the decorations are fine too. There is some background music, which gives that lounge feeling. Some criticism: -We ordered like four kinds of Maki, but only got one little spoon of wasabi, that's not enough. Consider putting some more. -No payment with EC/CC possible, cash only. That is a little unfortunate, if you're planning in forward, get some cash at the local ATMs or you'll get into trouble when you have to pay. (Consider solving these two problems and I'm willing to give this place a five star rating) I can definitely recommend this restaurant, if you're looking for some Japanese food. The choices are really great, and have some...
Read moreAlways loved the food here and even went there several times for special occasions, but during dinner today I observed a situation/behavior/decision by the staff which does not align with my morals.
To the situation: 2 persons were seated at the window, quite close to us so I could overhear the conversation - the persons in question: a trans woman wearing a pretty dress and a person with very pink hair. A few minutes after being seated they were asked by the staff to move away from the window (there are only 3 pr 4 places at the window and this is the only spot where passers by can look into the restaurant) to a different spot (by a wall). They complied without complaints, but I had to ask myself: why were they asked to move? I will not say here if the restaurant is LGBTQIA+ friendly or not, but I drew my own conclusion based on this incident.
I will no longer frequent the restaurant and truly hope such incidents will not become the norm. ————————————— Update based on Miss Hong’s reply: fair enough, the explanation seems...
Read moreVery sad that I haven't been here eariler. Regensburg is packed with Asian style/cuisine restaurants but it's still hard to find good ones.
Miss Hong is now on №1 place even higher than Good Ci (though being more down to earth) in Asian cuisine in Regensburg. Is it both tastier and better priced.
We have tried sushi and ramen, both best in town so far. They also have 2 of 3 rolls with eel and they are delicious. Not as many "European" rolls with beef and asparagus, which leaves more place for better stuff in the menu.
Fair warning, sushi preparation time is quite long, so if really hungry, you'd better order some snacks.
Also there a these cute little porcelain kittens that you can buy as a souvenir for a few €.
The place is really not that big, so it would probably make sense to make reservations. But we managed to squeeze in without it.
Keep in mind, it...
