One would think that the romantic city, Rothenburg, would have a lot of good bakeries... Sadly this wasn't the case. We walked around in the city trying to find a nice cafe, unfortunately this seemed like an impossible task, so we finally decided on cafe Friedrich Schöbel. It was maybe our mistake for thinking that the breakfast couldn't be that bad, because it really was. We spent 55 € on 5 buns, 2 pretzelbuns, 3 cups of tea, 3 cups of coffee and two pieces of cake, so not at all cheap. We did get the buns with some nice butter and way too much marmelade that wasn't any good. The buns were very dry and without taste. The two pretzelbuns were so bad, that I couldn't even finish a half. When I entered the cafe I was generally hungry and ready for some food, but I came out with no appetite. The two very large pieces of raspberry tarte consisted of a lot of nice raspberries, but a bit too much gelatine for my taste, and a very dry pie base. Overall a bad experience.
