Konditorei Café Prezel — Restaurant in Rothenburg ob der Tauber

Bought €15 worth of food and got it to go so we could sit outside on the patio and eat. The workers could clearly see we are tourists and none of their food was marked differently to “stay” vs “to go” there was nothing to say we needed to pay more for food if we wanted to stay. We ONLY bought our food to sit on their patio…. And of course we wanted to go outside with it…. The waitress comes by and forces us to pay €6 for a coke… I understand we have to pay to eat somewhere. But this was ridiculous so we decided to cancel the coke and leave as he hadn’t touched it. She ran after us made us pay for it… and didn’t even give us the to go price when we clearly didn’t want to be there anymore. I walked back and made them give us a to go cup for it. What a nasty place to treat people who clearly are visitors. Don’t go here or if you do make sure you pay extra if you want to sit because there is NO sign and the staff won’t explain that to you until they make us SO awkward you don’t...

We visited on a Sunday morning and ordered two coffees and cakes. Coffee was from a machine and very average. No idea when the cakes had been made but certainly not fresh. - I would guess three days beforehand. Neither was edible to be honest. The whole place seemed focused on getting as many tourist through at the highest prices. When I asked to pay by card, the waitress who seemed to have had a personality bypass, got very stroppy. We got into the place and start to order, then, another waitress said “you don’t have a table?!” Like if we should have know and that was the most obvious thing in the whole world. We got a table. The coffee, the Cappuccino, the croissant and the apfel strudel where not that thing.

So we were a bit upsed and decided to leave, and apparently you can only be served by one waitress, so as avatar, when you need him most - he vanished. I’m not going back to that place. At least they...
