Restaurant Café Prag — Restaurant in Schwerin

It was a great café, went for an early morning cappucchino alone and a daytime coffee with a family, both times the waiters we're really nice and the café wasn't too busy.

Althought, on my morning cappucchino, when i wanted to pay, for some reason, the waiter asked me if i'm ok, maybe i drank the cappucchino too quickly, but i wanted to pay.

The waiter asked me if i had any cash, she seemed a bit disappointed when i said i wanted to pay with card.

But even with that awkward interaction, i still enjoyed everything the café offered.

For the café, the prices seemed reasonable enough, for cappucchino i paid 4,30€ and for a small coffee (1,5dl probably) the price was 2,90€ if i remember correctly.

Both times, when i was at the café, i was outside, on the same table, the outside atmosphere was beautiful, nothing like my home country, which is finland, and there wasn't any tourists, expect me and my family, so i would definitely recommend a...

The place was great. It was Sunday and that time it was perfect because there are 2 guys baskin infront so you have the live music plus a relaxing day. But the old lady who attended us was a bit rude. We sat and ordered but we changed our table just beside the first one we sat down. Leider enttäuschend! Auf einem Tagesausflug von Rostock nach Schwerin besuchten wir zu zweit gezielt das Café Prag, da es zuvor irgendwo im Regionalfernsehen hoch gelobt wurde. Wer nun annimmt, das es dort etwas tschechisches auf der Karte gibt, liegt schonmal total daneben. Standard deutsche Touristen-Küche, ostalgisch angehaucht. Ragout fin, Strammer Max, Schnitzel usw. Wir entschieden uns für zwei Gerichte aus der Tageskarte. Saisonal Pfifferlinge in Rahmsauce, Schweinefilet, Rösti und einen Salat mit gebratenen Garnelen und Baguette. Es war gerade so ok, aber weit entfernt von total lecker. Das Fleisch zu sehr durch (hart/trocken), die Pfifferlinge schmeckten nicht „frisch“, sondern wie TK Ware, die Rahmsauce zu sehr nach „gekörnter Brühe“ (von Maggi oder so) und die Rösti waren zwei dieser furchtbaren TK gepressten dicken Dreiecke aus der Fritteuse, wie man sie bei jedem Discounter in der Truhe findet. Wir schauten extra noch mal in die Karte, ob da wirklich „frische“ Pfifferlinge steht (tat es) und ich sprach auch nochmal die Kellnerin an und fragte nach, ob sie wirklich „frisch“ waren. Laut ihrer Aussage:ja. Geschmeckt hat es nach TK Pilzen, so wässrig, wenn man raufgebissen hat und etwas glibschig. Auch der Salat war zwar reichhaltig, aber ohne Pep und mit fertigem Standarddressing aus dem Gastro-Großpack. Die Garnelen waren warm, aber ohne Röstaromen und das Baguette war ein halbes Frühstücksbrötchen. Die Hauslimonade Holunder war lecker. Preis knapp 50€ für zwei Essen und zwei Getränke. Das Ambiente- ja nett. Was es nun tatsächlich mit Prag zu tun hat, erschließt sich einem nicht. Ok, aber danke, nicht noch mal.
