CAVOS Taverna — Restaurant in Stuttgart

I tried the Greek restaurant CAVOS Taverna with four friends one Saturday evening about a week ago. The place was already packed when we got there, good thing we'd made reservations!

Though this place wasn't "terrible" I did have a few gripes about the food: 1.) It took a long time and then came all at once -including the salads and appetizers -this was a problem as we had very limited table space! 2.) The meat seemed over cooked and overly salty 3.) The was no pita bread served with anything!

Also, the place was packed and LOUD, so much so that we were yelling across the table to talk. Also, our reservation time was limited to 2:20 (which, when you are meeting with friends and food takes a while to come out, felt limiting.)

Als erstes mussten wir ca. 30min warten bis der erste Kellner unsere Getränkebestellung aufgenommen hat. Wir haben für 68€ pro Person das Fisch Menu bestellt ( Schon im Voraus per E-Mail und nochmals vor Ort) Daraufhin nochmals 1h 30min auf die erste Vorspeise gewartet. Der Kellner hat alle Getränke, jedesmal vergessen. Der 2. Gang die Suppe war eiskalt. Nach 3h kam unser Hauptgang jedoch falsch, nämlich ein Premium Menu das wir nicht bestellt haben. Daraufhin wurde der Kellner sehr laut und behauptete das ich Premium bestellt habe. Glücklicherweise konnten wir mit dem E-Mail das beweisen. Als unser richtiger Hauptgang kam, war alles kalt. Das Fleisch war mehr als Durch und der Fisch war ebenso ungeniessbar. Als wir dem Kellner das Fleisch zeigten, meinte er das er nichts mehr machen kann da die Küche nun geschlossen ist. Unser Dessert das wir im Menu Preis enthalten haben, haben wir leider nicht erhalten, jedoch streckte uns der Kellner um Mitternacht das Zahlungsgerät vor die Nase ohne jegliche Rechnung. Daraufhin haben wir dies natürlich nicht bezahlt und musste mit dem Chef in einem Hinterrächen dies besprechen. Er hat uns 50€ Rabatt gemacht. Wir haben für einen solch kathastrophelen Service und noch kathastrophleres Essen 140€ bezahlt. Dies ist eine absolute Frechheit und nicht empfehlenswert.

Das einzig gute an diesem Restaurant war die Musik.

Übrigens waren wir nicht die einzigen, der halbe Laden hatte das gleiche Problem. Anscheinend gab es ein neues Konzept, dies haben wir durch unsere auch unzufriedenen Tischnachbaren erfahren. Denn der Kellner hat über NICHTS informiert, nichteinmal darüber dass das Essen 3h Verspätung hat oder das Dessert aus ist! Fast schon lustig.

Food and a club atmosphere should not mix. The tissues on the ground, the dancing on tables are all things I could have done without. The food was not bad, but I only had starters despite having paid for a full menu as the place was so crowded and so loud I preferred not to eat and wait outside. Service was slow, and erratic, probably due to how crowded the place was, but the staff were nice.

Maybe on a quieter day than a Saturday it makes for a good Greek restaurant. My experience though was...
