First time here. We both ordered ramen with spice. It was not spicy at all. The chili tasted like a basic red oil with garlic. Also, when they brought out the ramen, I had to remind them that we had ordered the takoyaki as the appetizer. The takoyaki arrived when I was halfway done with my ramen. The ramen itself, aside from the non-spiciness, was fine, but nothing special.
Edit: This is in reply to the owner’s response.
Like I stated, my friend and I, despite being having two different levels of spiciness, didn’t taste any spice at all. It tasted simply like red oil. I don’t think our ethnicities had anything to do with it. In his words, „Pepper alone has more spice than this.“
And second, we ordered the takoyaki as an appetizer, which was clearly repeated to me by the waitress. When our ramen was brought and she told us to have a good meal, I then asked her about the takoyaki. She appeared confused for a second and checked her tablet. She went to check with the chef, and then came back to tell us that it would take a few more minutes to cook. I should also say that before we received our ramen, I had noticed the table behind us, had been delivered takoyaki but they had already received theirs so the waiter was sent away. It was later I realized that our takoyaki was brought to the...
Read moreI finally found my go-to ramen place in Stuttgart! This was my first time visiting since they opened and I am not disaapointed. You can already smell the broth when you enter the restaurant, which is located right in the Rotebühlplatz station (exit Calwer Straße). I went with a friend who has a toddler, and we ordered: 1 normal miso ramen, 1 shoyu ramen, takoyaki, and one of the dons (I forgot which one). Everything was to perfection! The broth was rich and tasty, but not to overpowering. I prefer the shoyu rather than miso though (personal taste). The service was also friendly but to us adults and this toddler who wanted to crawl around the restaurant. Too bad there was no high chairs for kids - maybe it’s not a bad idea to invest in one! Price was a bit on the high side, but can be compensated with the taste! 😋 I was full so didn’t have dessert, but I definitely will come back for the matcha creme brulee!
Update: went there 2 more times! The matcha creme brulee is...
Read moreAuthentic Ramen, very tasty with a little room for improvements. Pros: The broth is rich and tasty, the ajitama tastes good and has a runny egg yolk and the amount of cha shu pork is great 👍. Usually you only get two slices of pork cha shu but not in this restaurant. Here you get a hole bunch of pork cha shu.
What should be improved: Not much: The pork cha shu should also be grilled in its inner layers not only the crust which would give it a more grilled flavor. Also the taste of the marinade is very subtle, could be a little stronger. They should provide some aroma oil. I had the Tokyo shoyu ramen. A Mayu oil (Black garlic oil) would‘ve complimented the dish making it a complete ramen tastewise.
This is a really good ramen store. I would give it 4.5 stars but you can only give 4 or 5 stars. If they would make these minor improvements than it would be...
