Sorry. My family and I have been here to eat a few times over the past year. While this Kurose (not to be confused with the Kurose Ramen House in Feuerbach--which is great) has some good qualities; fresh sushi with a varied menu. However, overall it is not good value for your money. The portions are tiny for what you're charged; maki is small and the gyoza are four small pieces per serving (vice the standard 5-6 pieces) This evening we had dinner (86 Euro tab for 2 adults and a 5 year old, with no liquor) I paid 2.50 for an extra "prawn" tempura added to my order. What was delivered to our table could best be described as a tiny deep fried shrimp as one would find in a shrimp cocktail. It was barely 8cm long (with the tail). I should have sent it back to the kitchen as it was insulting they would even bring it to a customer. We will definitely not dine here again given the prices they charge compared to what is delivered. Must be the cost of overhead/rent in Feuersee that drives Kurose to do this, but we won't be subsidizing them anymore with...
Read moreThis is the best Japanese food I have ever had in Europe! Gyū Tan (beef tongue): the idea seems simple, grilled beef tongue with salt. But the meat is very juicy and tender. And it has a slight tint of smoky charcoal grill taste. The salt is also really delicious. It's really successful in preserving the food's original taste. Kamo (grilled duck): this is successful in the complexity of the food. The duck is crispy with a good charcoal taste on the outside, and tender on the inside. It's topped with a matching teriyaki sauce, some refreshing wasabi/onions sauce, and very crunchy puffed buckwheat. I find the use of puffed buckwheat an inspiring idea in adding new texture to the dish! Ika nattō: it's my first time trying nattō after hearing about its "smelly" fame for years. Surprisingly it's not stinky. The slimy taste is a bit special though. The raw squid under the nattō is very fresh and sweet. Overall it goes well with soy sauce and wasabi. Thanks for the food and all...
Read moreI had a high hope as I love Ramen. First disappointment arose when they couldn't make my Ramen spicy and just said that they have chili oil and the chili pepper which you normally get from the Asian store. The place also doesn't provide any warm drink, which I prefer when I dine such a dish. Finally the Ramen came, now where should I start? The chasuu and the egg was COLD, I understand that you should prepare certain stuff but that you served it cold? The noodle itself was ok (the taste of the noodle itself) but the broth was not (you can easily make it on your own with the ready soup based paste from the Asian store). The highlight tho was when we witnessed the waitress placed the chopstick back which she drop previously (the chopstick was not pack individually in such paper thing) from the floor to the utensil holder and just place it back on the table. Def not...
