Great service meets bland food. Impeccable service quality unfortunately could not make up for under-seasoned food. It was almost like they were afraid to make Turkish food taste Turkish. A shame because the preparation of the meat in the mixed grill plate I ordered was very good, but each item needed 2-3 times the amount of seasoning. One thing strip of beef was likely not even salted! The additional muhammara was the saving grace of the plate, without it there would have been zero flavor. And the lentil soup was an apology to lentils; no taste whatsoever, not even a trace of a lentil, as if they took lentils, pounded them back to the stone age, and then proceeded to make something resembling butternut squash. I feel terrible giving such a low review to a staff that was friendly, attentive and paid a lot of attention to the place settings, cleanliness and overall warm ambiance of the restaurant. But unfortunately the food was just not what Turkish food is...

I swear, this was truly fantastic. I was honestly blown away by how delicious the food here was! I went with a couple of Americans that were a bit nervous on all the food on offer, the menu is only in Turkish and German and none of the staff speak English but they made such a great effort to communicate to us what was what!

Got some recommendations from a Turkish friend on the phone and with the help of Google translate, ordered our food.

All of us were absolutely blown away, the funny thing was that one of the Americans said that the only thing they recognised was hummus so thought they would have more of that, but because all the food was so great, the hummus was the thing we ate the least and was left over.

Enttäuschender Service und mangelhafte Organisation

Wir waren heute im Restaurant Aspendos und hatten eigentlich einen Tisch draußen reserviert. Vor Ort wurde uns jedoch trotz der hohen Temperaturen nur ein Platz drinnen angeboten – und es war dort extrem warm.

Schon der Start war enttäuschend: Wir mussten eine halbe Stunde warten, bis überhaupt jemand unsere Bestellung aufnahm – und das auch nur, nachdem wir selbst aktiv nachgefragt hatten. Danach vergingen weitere 40 Minuten, bis die Getränke kamen. Diese waren jedoch warm (Spezi und Cola). Auf unsere Nachfrage bekamen wir die Antwort, dass keine gekühlten Getränke mehr vorhanden seien und man sie aus dem Keller holen musste. So etwas darf in einem Restaurant einfach nicht passieren – eine entsprechende Vorbereitung sollte selbstverständlich sein.

Ich hatte eine Suppe bestellt, die zwar irgendwann kam, aber ohne Brot. Als das Brot dann endlich gebracht wurde, war meine Suppe schon gegessen – sehr ärgerlich. Nach etwa weiteren 20–30 Minuten kam schließlich das Essen für fast alle… fast! Für einen Erwachsenen am Tisch wurde das Essen schlicht vergessen. Keine Entschuldigung, keine freundliche Geste – nur die Frage, ob die Person das Essen denn jetzt noch wolle.

Auf dem Tisch fehlten zudem Servietten, und das Personal wirkte generell unerfahren und überfordert. Die Preise sind für das Gebotene eindeutig zu hoch. Ich zahle gern für gutes Essen und guten Service, aber so etwas ist für mich nicht akzeptabel.

Fazit: Schönes Restaurant, aber katastrophaler Service und organisatorische Mängel. Für uns leider...
