My disappointing experience at Petite Dejeuner
My recent visit to Petite Dejeuner on Thursday 11th April 2024, left much to be desired, with several issues contributing to a subpar dining experience. I was accompanied by a group of 7 people, we encountered significant challenges throughout our visit.
The service was noticeably slow and disorganized, starting with a 10-minute delay in clearing our table followed by another 10-minute wait to place our orders. Despite placing our order promptly at 11:25, the wait for our food was excessively long. Our group ordered a variety of dishes, including three jumbo full stacks, one regular full stack, a pancake sandwich (which I ordered), and pancakes for another member.
Unfortunately, our drink orders were also mishandled, as two of us requested cocktail juice but were served mango juice instead. The first batch of food eventually arrived at 12:35, but the delays persisted, with my own meal not arriving until 1:10, leaving me feeling frustrated. Throughout the ordeal, communication from the staff was lacking, and attention to detail was notably absent.
Adding to our disappointment, the food arrived cold despite the extended wait time, and part of our orders, including chicken nuggets and hot chocolate, were forgotten entirely, requiring us to remind the staff. Even when it came to pancake toppings, the staff neglected to confirm preferences, and brought their preference. Further, the baked beans served were cold and as such was inedible.
In conclusion, my visit to Petite Dejeuner was marred by slow service, poor communication, and disappointing...
Read moreWe wanted to try this place after seeing nice pictures on Google and other social media, but realized shortly that it is an overrated place. Depending on the expectations (sometime locals and expats may have different expectations and standards), it is pretty wear in terms of the kitchen.
My spouse wanted to order Vegan Crepe Wrap and we were told that they don't have non-dairy milk, which we understood and asked the Crepe to be made with normal milk. When they served the food, we noticed there is also cheese in it (my spouse is vegan and lactose intolerant). They are not conscious of being lactose intolerant or vegan. The taste and the presentation were just average for the wrap.
I ordered Waffles with extra "seasonal fruits" (as they call seasonal, I thought they would add some Bananas, Mangoes etc.), they served the waffle with frozen fruits. The waffle wasn't cooked, inside was raw. I also ordered mango juice but the mango was overripe and taste was not good. I wasn't able to finish my food and drink.

Read morePlace is quite difficult to locate. There’s no official sign out there showing the name of the restaurant I noticed. I was only able to locate it because they was a placard on the wall which showed a breakfast platter so that needs to be fixed. The location itself is strictly outdoor in a house like setting which is quite interesting. There was no music playing when I entered, so it’s a dead silence kind of setting. The umbrellas are not really positioned well so you will either be under the sun or half inside the umbrellas. Overall experience wasn’t bad, food doesn’t take too long when ordered but it could be better. The choices on the food platter is minimal but manageable for 2 people. Temperature was warm and not hot like it should be. I would say it’s not an overly top of the line breakfast place. Atmosphere is quite subpar if you’re looking for something more modern but it’s manageable. The service could be better and the atmosphere can be managed better with better seating and a lot...
